🌟 A Simple Meal, A Big Meaning 🌟

This is more than just a meal. Food has the power to bring people together, to create warmth, smiles, and a sense of belonging. For these children, a shared meal represents care, love, and the feeling of being remembered.

Through this simple act of makan together, we hope to place not only food on the table, but also happiness in their hearts 💛. This meaningful initiative would not be possible without the dedication and heart of our JCI members.

Special appreciation to Bro. Kelvin Low, whose initiative and coordination made this possible, and Local Secretary Lim Zi Yue for her strong support and seamless arrangements.

It is a wonderful opportunity for JCI Taiping to serve the community and live out our spirit of active citizenship.

📋 JCI Taiping 33rd Annual General Meeting 📋
On 13th December 2025, JCI Taiping held our 33rd Annual General Meeting (AGM). A special gathering where members came together to look back on our journey, share our achievements, and talk about what’s ahead.

During the AGM, we went through key updates, celebrated the success of our projects, and thanked the members who have given their time and heart to JCI Taiping throughout the year. It was a great moment to reconnect, exchange ideas, and strengthen our bond as one chapter.

As we move forward, we are excited to step into 2026 with our theme 'One Youth, One Spirit, One Taiping'. United as one team, we look forward to empowering more young leaders, working hand in hand, and making a positive difference in the Taiping community.

A big thank you to all members for your support and participation. Together, we grow. Together, we lead. Together, we are JCI Taiping.💙

2025年12月13日，太平国际青年商会（JCI Taiping）顺利召开了第33届会员大会（AGM）。这是一次充满意义的聚会，会员们齐聚一堂，回顾过去一年的成长与收获，也共同展望未来的发展方向。

【紧急水灾赈灾募捐】

霹雳州在 2025 年 11 月遭受严重水灾。连续不断的大雨导致水位暴涨、房屋受损，许多家庭一夜之间被迫撤离。至今仍有不少灾民缺乏基本生活用品——他们现在真的非常需要我们的帮助。☔️🌧️

在这样的时刻，“社区”就是最重要的力量。作为 JCI Kinta、JCI Taiping 和 JCI Teluk Intan，我们与所有受影响的家庭站在同一阵线 —— 不只是口头上的支持，而是实际行动。💪💙

我们现正发起紧急水灾赈灾募捐活动，您的捐款将直接用于为受灾家庭准备紧急救援物资包，帮助他们度过最艰难的时刻。

再小的金额也有意义。

The 2nd Raintown Film Festival will be held from September 12 to 14, 2025, at Paragon Cinemas Taiping Mall. Over the 3-day event, the festival will screen 4 films shot in Taiping, including:

🌦️ "The Gathering", produced by Abang Adik director Jin Ong and marking Jack Tan’s acting debut in 2014. The film delicately captures the nostalgic atmosphere of Taiping’s small-town charm.

🌦️ "The Game", directed by Felix Tan, was filmed entirely on Bukit Larut (Maxwell Hill).

🌦️ "ROCK", directed by the late Mamat Khalid, is a 1980s Malay rock story that blends music, humour, and culture. In conjunction with its 20th anniversary, the film will be specially screened as a tribute.

🌦️ "The Pirate & Emperor Ship", a documentary directed by Taiping-born filmmaker Khoo Eng Yow and narrated by Lee Eng Kew, tells the story of the "Perak Pirate King" Tan Lian Lay.

In addition to film screenings, the festival will host a special talk titled "Capturing the Memories of Aulong Lama", presented by Uthaya Sankar SB, as well as a 3-hour guided walking tour of Taiping, led by Professor Teoh Chee Keong. Participants will explore the city through storytelling and walking, gaining insights into Taiping’s layered history and urban narratives, discovering the past and present of Raintown from new perspectives.

All events are free and open to the public (except the walking tour). We warmly invite everyone to take advantage of the September long weekend to visit Taiping - watch films, explore the town, and discover the unique charm of Raintown through cinema!
