【Case No. 46 | When the doctor said the words “Leukemia,” this mother nearly broke down】
👶 His name is Givan Noah Veepiandeejoe.
Born in 2023,
he should have been growing up carefree,
learning to talk, run, and play in the arms of his parents.
Instead, fate dealt this family a devastating blow.
💔 It all began with a lump on his neck.
Soon after, he started having recurring fevers.
His family initially thought it was just a normal illness
and brought him to the hospital for a check-up.
However, the doctors arranged further blood tests and a bone marrow examination.
The days spent waiting for the results
were agonizing for the entire family.
Until the day the results came back
The doctor told them that their child had
B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (B-Cell ALL).
In that moment,
their world seemed to collapse.
🏥 The doctors explained that
there is still a chance for recovery,
but the risk of relapse remains very high.
As a result,
he must undergo long-term chemotherapy treatment
and continue to be closely monitored by the medical team.
To avoid infections,
the family now lives almost in isolation.
They cannot go to crowded places,
cannot freely go out,
and rarely meet relatives or friends.
Their entire lives now revolve around their child's treatment.
During the interview,
the mother could not hold back her tears.
She said:
“At that time, I simply could not accept it.”
“I even thought about ending my life.”
“I told myself, maybe I should leave this world first.”
“I truly did not understand why this had to happen.”
“Why me?”
“Why our family?”
At that point,
the mother broke down completely.
After a long pause,
she slowly regained her composure.
Then she told herself:
“If I fall apart, who will take care of my child?”
Those words captured
all the helplessness and heartbreak of a mother.
💔 The father earns a living by growing and selling crops.
His income is around RM500 a month,
sometimes a little more,
sometimes even less.
The mother must care for the child full-time
and is unable to work.
Today,
the family relies solely on this small income
while struggling to support their child's lengthy treatment journey.
💸 The family urgently needs RM13,200
to support their child’s ongoing treatment and daily living expenses, including:
✅ Special milk formula
✅ Diapers
✅ Medical-related expenses
✅ Transportation to and from the hospital
✅ House rental
✅ Food and daily living expenses
✅ Other care-related costs during chemotherapy
🙏 We sincerely appeal to the public:
Your contribution may not be able to take away the child’s pain.
But it can help this family
avoid facing this difficult journey alone.
Even RM10, RM50, or RM100
can become a source of strength
that helps them keep going.
💖 May your kindness
become a warm source of support
for this child as he fights his illness.
And may he one day recover,
and enjoy the happy childhood he deserves.
