It was a Raya week filled with smiles and precious memories as two ailing children had their heartfelt wishes granted spending quality family time at a resort hotel, courtesy of The Saujana Hotel Kuala Lumpur and the Childrenโ€™s Wish Society of Malaysia (CWS).

Both families were treated to an unforgettable overnight stay, with the hotel pulling out all the stops to pamper them and create moments of joy amid their daily challenges.

Two-year-old Muhammad Aafi Bin Dedi Saputra, who has been courageously battling relapsed neuroblastoma, was one of the lucky wish kids. Despite multiple lines of chemotherapy and surgery, little Aafi continues his fight under palliative care.

Aafi lives in Sungai Buloh with his family, who currently rely on financial aid to get by. For them, this brief getaway meant the world, a chance to create lasting memories while Aafi is still well enough to travel.

The second child, Ahmad Iman Khalis Bin Affandy Syahril, 12, was born with Wolf-Hirschhorn syndrome, a rare genetic disorder that has brought with it a host of medical complications from epilepsy and kidney disease to visual and hearing impairments. But despite all this, Ahmad Imanโ€™s spirit shines bright.

Ahmad Iman requires round-the-clock care, including medical equipment provided under Zakat. His parents, who lovingly tend to him at home, were overjoyed to have this rare chance to spend time together outside their usual routine surrounded by nature and family warmth.

โ€œThe Saujana Hotel Kuala Lumpur is truly honoured to be part of this meaningful journey with the Childrenโ€™s Wish Society of Malaysia, creating special moments for these families to cherish.โ€ said a hotel spokesperson. โ€œSometimes, itโ€™s the simplest experiences, being together, sharing a meal, and enjoying each otherโ€™s presence, that mean the most. We are grateful to play a small part in making these memories possible. We are honoured to be part of something truly meaningful. Creating small moments of joy, big memories for a lifetime.โ€

CWS Malaysia president TH Teoh expressed heartfelt thanks to the hotel for their generosity. โ€œItโ€™s quality time for the families,โ€ he said. โ€œIโ€™m sure Aafi and Iman enjoyed themselves, being away from home and surrounded by love.โ€

The Childrenโ€™s Wish Society of Malaysia continues its mission of granting wishes for ailing children nationwide because even in lifeโ€™s toughest battles, love and kindness can make magic happen. ๐Ÿ’ซ

Little Hiresh could barely sit still in the car as it rolled up to Sunway Lagoon on the 1st day of Hari Raya. The festive decorations, the lively crowds and the promise of water slides had him grinning from ear to ear โ€“ today wasnโ€™t just Raya, it was also his special birthday outing with his two cousins and his beloved family.

Thanks to a thoughtful wish arranged for him, this bubbly boy who suffers from advanced brain cancer. He loves splash parks and finally got the chance to enjoy a day that was all about fun, laughter and making memories with the people he loved most.
โ€‹
The moment they walked through the entrance, Hiresh had only one mission: get into the water as fast as possible. While the adults were still figuring out where to sit and put their bags, he had already rushed to change into his swimwear, eager to dive straight into the action. His cousins were quick to follow, and in no time, the three of them were marching gleefully towards the Cabana, ready for a splashing good time under the bright Raya sun.
โ€‹
The theme park was buzzing with life โ€“ the sound of children squealing on the slides, water cannons firing, and waves crashing created the perfect soundtrack for his big day. For a boy who has been bravely going through hospital visits and treatments, this felt like stepping into another world where the only things that mattered were slides, splashes and smiles. Every spray of water across his face, every giggle from his cousins, and every shout of excitement from his family watching nearby made his heart feel lighter than ever.
โ€‹
Then came the moment everyone had been secretly waiting for. As Hiresh stepped out from the pool for a short break, he was greeted with a beautiful birthday cake, candles flickering gently as his family and the team around him broke into a loud and cheerful โ€œHappy Birthdayโ€ song. Sunway Lagoon and the Childrenโ€™s Wish Society of Malaysia had teamed up to throw him a surprise birthday party right there in the park, turning an already fun outing into a celebration he would never forget.
โ€‹
His eyes lit up as everyone sang, some off-key, some laughing halfway through the lyrics, but all pouring their hearts into making him feel loved. When he blew out the candles, he didnโ€™t just make a wish โ€“ in that moment, he was the happiest boy in the park, surrounded by the people who had been by his side through every tough day and every hospital corridor. The cake was cut, shared and quickly devoured, with icing ending up on little noses and cheeks as the kids couldnโ€™t wait to get back into the water.
โ€‹
Among the crowd that day was CWS volunteer Alvira Benedict, who had lovingly coordinated the entire outing with Sunway Lagoon's Sherena Ann just to see that bright smile on Hireshโ€™s face. She had planned to stay relatively dry and โ€œprofessionalโ€, but the joy in the air was contagious. Before long, she bravely decided to wade into the knee-deep water to join the kids, laughing as she stepped carefully into the pool.

Big mistake โ€“ but the best kind.

The moment Hiresh spotted her in the water, his playful side took over. With a cheeky grin, he teamed up with his cousins and launched a full-on splash attack towards Alvira. Wave after wave of water crashed into her as the three little โ€œwater warriorsโ€ shrieked with laughter, completely soaking her from front to back. Any hope of staying dry vanished instantly, but Alvira couldnโ€™t stop laughing as she tried (and failed) to dodge their splashes.

For everyone watching, it was a simple scene โ€“ kids splashing a grown-up in a pool. But for those who knew what Hiresh had been going through, it meant so much more. It was the sight of a child, burdened by illness and treatment, getting the chance to just be a kid again. No hospital gowns, no scary machines, no quiet rooms โ€“ only water, joy and the freedom to play without worry.

CWS Malaysia president TH Teoh thanked Sunway Lagoon for graciously hosting the outing and putting heartwarming details into planning his birthday party. "Bringing smiles back to children who are challenged with life-threatening illnesses is our continued mission with Sunway Lagoon. Terima Kasih!!" he said.

For Hiresh's family, the outing at Sunway Lagoon was more than just a Raya celebration or a birthday party. It was a precious chapter in Hireshโ€™s journey, a day where his bravery met pure joy, and where the kindness of strangers helped turn a simple wish into a beautiful reality. As they walked out of the park, hand in hand, one thing was clear: this was a Raya and a birthday that they would remember forever โ€“ and in the middle of it all was a little boy whose smile shone brighter than any firework in the sky.

Even before the Hari Raya decorations went up, 18-year-old Danisha Hanim already knew what she wanted most this festive season - a brand new handphone to capture precious moments with her family.

For years, Danisha, who suffers from end-stage renal failure secondary to bilateral hypoplastic kidneys, has relied on her old 7-year-old phone for entertainment while travelling from Kedah to Penang Hospital three times a week for dialysis. The tiring routine never stopped her from staying cheerful, even as she spent countless hours hooked up to a dialysis machine.

So when Danisha shared her wish with the Childrenโ€™s Wish Society of Malaysia (CWS Malaysia), her dream came true.

When the CWS team met Danisha after one of her dialysis sessions at Penang Hospital, CWS Malaysia president TH Teoh had a special challenge for her - to use her brand-new phone to film a TikTok video about her familyโ€™s Hari Raya celebrations this year.

โ€œNow you can be your own TikTok director for Raya,โ€ he told her with a smile.

Moments later, Danisha could hardly hold back her excitement as CWS Malaysia vice-president Kelvin Chew handed her the gleaming new smartphone at the hospital lobby. Her face lit up brighter than the Hari Raya lights she plans to film soon.

โ€œI promise to record our Raya morning together. Terima Kasih,โ€ she said with a shy smile.

Although Danisha isnโ€™t eligible for a kidney transplant, she continues to face life with courage and positivity proving that even through pain, joy can still shine through with a little kindness and hope.

Thanks to CWS Malaysia, this Raya, Danishaโ€™s biggest gift isnโ€™t just the phone, itโ€™s the chance to tell her own story and share the happiness of her family with the world.

The distant wail of a fire engine siren had always made little Muhammad Daniel Hakeem bin Shahrul Nizam light up with joy. From the window of his home, the three-year-old would press his tiny palms against the glass and watch in awe as the bright red truck sped past.

โ€œAbah, one day Iโ€™ll be a fireman too,โ€ he would say earnestly โ€” a childโ€™s dream spoken with pure, innocent certainty.

But this time, Daniel didnโ€™t have to run to the window. The siren from Balai Bomba & Penyelamat Seri Kembangan came to him.

Daniel had been warded in the paediatric intensive care unit (ICU) for more than a week, fighting bravely against chronic dilated cardiomyopathy, a serious heart condition that had weakened his young heart. Despite the tubes and monitors surrounding him, his fascination with fire engines never faded.

When the Childrenโ€™s Wish Society of Malaysia (CWS Malaysia) learned about Danielโ€™s dream, the team moved swiftly. In less than 48 hours, they made what they fondly called an โ€œemergency call to 994โ€ โ€” not for a fire, but to deliver a wish.

The Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia responded without hesitation.

That morning, the narrow hospital corridor filled with warmth and emotion as a group of uniformed firemen arrived โ€” carrying a mini fire truck, a child-sized firemanโ€™s uniform, and hearts wide open.

Inside Danielโ€™s ICU room, time seemed to pause. Everyone including his parents stood quietly as the nurses carefully helped Daniel into his little red uniform. The jacket hung loosely over his frail frame, but his small smile said it all. For that moment, he wasnโ€™t a patient โ€” he was one of them, Malaysiaโ€™s youngest firefighter.

The firemen saluted him, placing a helmet gently on his head and handing him duit raya as a token of brotherhood. Around his bed, tears and smiles mingled freely. It was a scene that deeply moved everyone present โ€” medical staff, family, and firemen alike.

For those few precious minutes, a critically ill childโ€™s greatest wish came true.

It was a day when heroes met a little hero of their own โ€” a child whose courage shone brighter than any flame.

โ€œMoments like this remind us why we do what we do,โ€ said TH Teoh, president of the Childrenโ€™s Wish Society of Malaysia. โ€œTo see Daniel smile, even for a short while, was a gift to everyone in that room. Every wish we fulfill is a reminder that hope โ€” no matter how small โ€” can bring comfort and strength to a child and their family.โ€

The Childrenโ€™s Wish Society of Malaysia, based in Subang Jaya, continues its mission of granting wishes to critically and chronically ill children nationwide โ€” turning fleeting dreams into lasting memories of love and courage.

On the second day of Chinese New Year, while many families were out making festive memories, a 6-year-old boy from Kuala Lumpur was given something priceless: a day that felt like childhood again.

Muhammad Dafiq Raiqal bin Ros Zaimi was diagnosed with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG) in March 2025, a rare and aggressive brain tumour that has changed his life in ways no child should ever have to face. Today, Dafiq is wheelchair-bound and has right-sided weakness, making even simple moments harder than they used to be.

But thanks to Childrenโ€™s Wish Society of Malaysia, Dafiqโ€™s world opened up in the most magical way with dinosaurs.

Dafiqโ€™s wish was fulfilled with a special visit to Dino Desert at Dinosaur Park, Monkeys Canopy in Sungai Long. For one beautiful day, it wasnโ€™t about appointments, treatments, or limitations. It was about wonder, excitement, and that spark in a childโ€™s eyes when something unbelievable feels real.

As he strolled through the park, he took in the towering โ€œprehistoricโ€ sights around him, the kind of experience that makes you forget everything else for a while.

When the โ€œanimalsโ€ moved, his heart skipped a beat
And then came the moment that made it all feel even more real.

Some of the dinosaurs didnโ€™t just stand there, they moved. They growled. They came alive.

For a second, Dafiq got a little worried (and honestly, who wouldnโ€™t?). But thatโ€™s what made it so special: it wasnโ€™t just a display, it was an experience. The kind of nervous giggle, wide-eyed pause, and brave curiosity that makes childhood memories stick for life.

๐Œ๐จ๐ซ๐ž ๐ญ๐ก๐š๐ง ๐ฃ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ ๐š ๐๐š๐ฒ ๐จ๐ฎ๐ญ

People often say itโ€™s โ€œjust a tripโ€ or โ€œjust an outingโ€, but for families walking through a diagnosis like DIPG, moments like these are everything. A wish fulfilled can become a lifeline; a bright, unforgettable chapter in the middle of an exhausting storm.

That second day of Chinese New Year, Dafiq didnโ€™t just visit a dinosaur park.

He got to be a kid having the time of his life even if the dinosaurs were a little too convincing.

In a heartwarming celebration of resilience and family bonds, the Children's Wish Society of Malaysia (CWSM) teamed up with Sunway Putra Hotel to grant the special wish of eight-year-old Muhammad Iman Dzikri Muhammad Zulfitri, a brave fighter currently battling a relapse of Pre-B Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.

Under CWS Malaysiaโ€™s board member Nancy Nais and the hotelโ€™s care, cheerful Iman โ€“ the eldest of three siblings, including a three-year-old brother and a newborn lit up with excitement during his dream staycation at the luxurious Kuala Lumpur hotel.

Despite his intense medical journey and the family's financial strains, Iman remains a bundle of joy. He loves simple pleasures like playing with his siblings and cousins, devouring instant noodles (Maggi), sausages, eggs, and watching mukbang videos. "I want to be a chef one day!" he shared, his eyes sparkling with aspiration.

The highlight? A hands-on cooking session with Sunway Putra Hotel's talented chefs, where Iman donned a mini chef's hat and whipped up delights alongside the pros. The day culminated in a custom-decorated cake just for him and his family, creating precious memories amid their limited opportunities for outings.

"This wish wasn't just about a hotel stay โ€“ it was about giving Iman and his family a taste of happiness, good food, and togetherness," Nancy said. For Iman, who isn't attending school right now, the experience fueled his culinary dreams and reminded everyone of the power of joy in tough times.

Sunway Putra Hotel's partnership underscores their commitment to community causes, turning a child's wish into an unforgettable adventure. As Iman returns home with full bellies and fuller hearts, his story inspires us all to cherish the little moments that matter most.

Twelve-year-old Hemakumar A/L Manimuthiโ€™s long-held wish to experience a flight finally came true when the Childrenโ€™s Wish Society of Malaysia arranged his maiden journey to Langkawi. The memorable trip included a Batik Air flight, a three-day stay at Berjaya Langkawi Resort, and an island-hopping adventure that left him beaming with excitement.

Hemakumar, described by his doctors as a cheerful boy, had expressed a simple but heartfelt dream: to travel on an aeroplane at least once with his family. His case was referred to the wish-granting team with details of his medical conditions, including Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and Caudal Regression Syndrome.

With the societyโ€™s help, Hemakumar boarded Batik Air for his very first flightโ€”destination: the โ€œmystical isleโ€ of Langkawi. During the trip, the airline crew made the moment even more special by posing for a photo with him just before he disembarked, creating a keepsake to remember his milestone day.

In Langkawi, Hemakumar spent three days at Berjaya Langkawi Resort, where the hotel team warmly pampered him throughout his stay. He also got to experience island hopping by boat, taking in Langkawiโ€™s coastal sights up close.

One of the brightest highlights came on the water: Hemakumar lit up with delight whenever the boat rose and dipped over the waves, turning each splash into laughter and wide-eyed wonder. For a child whose wish was simply to feel what many take for granted, each momentโ€”airborne and at seaโ€”became proof that hope can arrive in the most uplifting ways.

For nine-month-old Zul Hafif bin Zul Hazizi Al Yusoff Abidin, joy often comes in the form of birds flying past his window. On a recent day, thanks to the Childrenโ€™s Wish Society of Malaysia and Sunway Lagoon, that joy took flight beyond the confines of his home and hospital routines.

Zul Hafif lives with Cyanotic Congenital Heart Disease, including dextrocardia with severe Ebstein anomaly, a hypoplastic right ventricle resulting in a single-ventricle condition, pulmonary atresia, and dilated cardiomyopathy. He relies on a CPAP machine for breathing support and is fed via a Ryleโ€™s tube. Despite the complexity of his medical needs, his parents shared one simple wish: for their son to experience a day outdoors at Sunway Lagoon, where he could see birds up close rather than only hearing them from afar.

Responding to this heartfelt request, the Childrenโ€™s Wish Society of Malaysia partnered with Sunway Lagoon to organise a carefully planned outing that prioritised Zul Hafifโ€™s safety and comfort. The experience allowed the family to step outside their daily medical routines and create cherished memories together.

At the park, Zul Hafifโ€™s parents observed visible excitement as he watched birds flying freely in the open air. For them, the outing was more than a leisure tripโ€”it was a rare moment of normalcy and happiness in a life shaped by constant medical care.

The initiative reflects the mission of the Childrenโ€™s Wish Society of Malaysia to bring hope, strength, and joy to children living with life-threatening illnesses by fulfilling meaningful wishes. With the support of partners such as Sunway Lagoon, the organisation continues to demonstrate how compassion and collaboration can profoundly impact families facing extraordinary challenges.

For Zul Hafif, the day marked a small but powerful victoryโ€”a reminder that even amid medical complexity, moments of wonder and childhood joy can still soar.

On a warm Boxing Day filled with hope, laughter echoed softly through Sunway Lagoon as five-year-old Aariz Rayqal Bin Mohamad Shahrohaizam experienced a day his family will forever hold close to their hearts.

Aariz, a gentle soul with a brave smile, is currently under palliative care at Hospital Kuala Lumpur. Diagnosed with Pierre Robin Sequence and global developmental delay with failure to thrive, his days are often shaped by medical routines and quiet resilience. Yet on this special day, the worries softened, replaced by sunshine, curiosity, and moments of pure childhood wonder.

Through the compassion of the Childrenโ€™s Wish Society of Malaysia, in heartfelt partnership with Sunway Lagoon, Aarizโ€™s familyโ€™s simple but deeply meaningful wishโ€”to spend a day together at the parkโ€”was lovingly fulfilled. It was not just a day out; it was a precious pause from hospital corridors and medical appointments, a chance to create memories filled with warmth and love.

The family spent most of their time at the Bird Park and Petting Zoo, spaces that offered calm, gentle joy perfectly suited to Aariz. As colourful birds fluttered nearby and soft animal sounds filled the air, Aariz watched with wide, curious eyes. There was something magical in those quiet momentsโ€”Aariz reaching out to gently touch the animals, his face lighting up with small smiles as he felt their warmth and movement. Each interaction was tender, unhurried, and filled with meaning.

Surrounded by nature and the people who love him most, Aariz experienced joy in its purest form. His parents stood close, cherishing every smile, every peaceful moment, knowing how rare and precious such days can be. For them, this was more than an outingโ€”it was a memory etched deeply into their hearts.

This Boxing Day, Sunway Lagoon became more than a destination. It became a place where compassion met action, where a wish turned into a lived experience, and where a little boyโ€™s happiness quietly reminded everyone present of the power of kindness.

The Childrenโ€™s Wish Society of Malaysia continues to bring light into the lives of children facing life-limiting illnesses, proving that even a single day can make a lifelong difference. With partners like Sunway Lagoon, wishes are not just fulfilledโ€”they are felt, deeply and enduringly.

For Aariz Rayqal, that day will always be remembered as one filled with gentle wonder, loving togetherness, and the simple joy of being a child. And for all who helped make it possible, it stands as a beautiful reminder: sometimes, the greatest gift we can give is time, compassion, and a moment of happiness shared.

Ten-year-old Nuri Shafaraziah bt Abdullah had her simple but heartfelt wish fulfilled when the Childrenโ€™s Wish Society of Malaysia CWS presented her with a handphone during a visit to her hospital ward, bringing smiles and a sense of celebration to an otherwise difficult journey.

The presentation took place at Sarawak General Hospital, where Nuri is currently receiving care. Alongside the handphone, a small birthday party was organised for her at the ward, complete with simple decorations and moments of cheer shared with her family and medical staff.

Nuri lives with Mucopolysaccharidosis Type 1, also known as Hurler syndrome, a rare and life limiting genetic condition. Her health has deteriorated in recent months, leaving her bed bound and undergoing palliative care. During consultations, Nuri had expressed her wish for a handphone so she could play online games and watch videos in her free time, instead of having to share her motherโ€™s device.

For Nuri, the gift was more than just a phone. It offered comfort, distraction and a sense of independence during long days in the hospital. Her birthday celebration, though modest, added warmth and dignity to the occasion, reminding her that she is not alone.

CWS Malaysia board member Nancy Nais said the visit reflected the societyโ€™s mission to honour the wishes of children with critical and life limiting illnesses, believing that moments of joy can make a meaningful difference for both the child and their family.

In a quiet hospital ward, laughter, smiles and a birthday song briefly replaced the weight of illness, as Nuriโ€™s wish came true, one small gift at a time.

At just 13, Sharira Qissyina has learned far more about courage than any child ever should.

Diagnosed in July 2024 with stage four Ewing sarcoma of the left pelvic bone, Sharira has spent much of the past year moving between hospital wards and treatment rooms. Chemotherapy ended in May 2025, but two weeks ago, her family received devastating news. The cancer has progressed. Multiple bone metastases, including to her skull, have caused persistent headaches, and her condition is expected to deteriorate.

Yet those who meet Sharira often notice one thing first. Her smile.

A lovely girl with a broad and gentle grin, Sharira carries herself with quiet strength. Her movement is now limited by the disease, and she spends most of her time resting, often on her phone, finding small comforts in a world that has become increasingly confined. Pink is her favourite colour, a soft reflection of her personality and the innocence she still holds onto.

When asked about her wish, Sharira did not ask for something grand. She wished for a Pandora charm bracelet.

It is a simple dream, but one filled with meaning. Each charm can be a memory, a moment of joy, a reminder that she is seen, cherished, and loved.

The Childrenโ€™s Wish Society of Malaysia made the journey to Chuping, Perlis to fulfil Shariraโ€™s wish, bringing a spark of happiness during one of the most difficult chapters of her young life.

Beyond fulfilling her wish, the society also took up the cost of private transport to send her home from Penang General Hospital earlier in the month when she was discharged.

"This is not just about transport, or a bracelet. It is about compassion. It is about easing a familyโ€™s burden. It is about giving a child, who has endured so much, moments of peace, beauty, and joy," CWS Malaysia president TH Teoh said.

For Sharira Qissyina, a pink dream and a gentle journey home meant everything.
