Today, our community mourns the passing of a beloved elder, a former Trustee and dedicated Community Leader.

Throughout his years of service, Uncle Ram worked to uplift the community, support education of the young and care for the wellbeing of the aged. He was part of many of our fond childhood memories. Remembering his kind words today.

We extend our condolences to his family.

Journey on in peace, Uncle. You are loved and remembered by so many of us.

Celebrating Heritage Through Kebaya ❤️

Today, the Melaka Chetti Heritage Association of Malaysia (MCHAM) was honoured to participate in 'Kebaya Kita', an exhibition curated by kebaya and batik enthusiast Wong Mee Fong at the Museum of Asian Art, Universiti Malaya.

Driven by a vision to showcase the rich diversity of kebaya traditions across communities, the exhibition features eight personal stories that highlight the enduring cultural connections woven through kebaya

Featured at the exhibition is the kebaya of the late G. Meenachi, a legendary icon of pantun and dondang sayang. Recognised by the Melaka state government as a 'Dondang Sayang Art Activist', she trained under the renowned Baba Kim Teck and dedicated her life to preserving this treasured cultural art form.

We are proud to share her legacy and the story of the Melaka Chetti community through this meaningful exhibition.

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of our beloved community member, Madam Tialamah A/P Pitchakaran.

Her warm smile, gentle presence, and quiet kindness touched the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.

We will miss her caring spirit and the grace with which she carried herself. May her journey be blissful and light, and may the memories she leaves behind bring comfort to Praba Chenaya and her loved ones.

Our deepest condolences to her family. Please know that you remain in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
