We successfully held our 1st Meeting of the Year recently, and the energy in the room was truly inspiring! Chaired by our Chairman, Mr. Goh Chong Hing, the committee gathered to lay the groundwork for an impactful year ahead.

It was a productive session where we deep-dived into the essentials:

Wednesday, 29 April 2026 - KRT PJS 9 Engages with PDRM Selangor Leadership at Hari Bertemu Pelanggan IPD Subang Jaya

We are pleased to announce that KRT PJS 9 Chairman, Goh Chong Hing, and Deputy Chairman, Abu Hassan Ahmad, attended the Selangor Police Customer Meeting Day held this morning at the Subang Jaya District Police Headquarters (IPD).

This high-level engagement provided a vital platform for our community to convey resident concerns directly to PDRM’s top leadership, including CP Dato' Pahlawan Shazeli bin Dato' Kahar (Selangor Chief of Police) and DCP Mohd Zaini bin Abu Hassan (Deputy Chief of Police).

📍 Strategic Takeaways for Our Neighborhood:
🛡️ Enhanced Anti-Scam Measures: To protect our residents—particularly senior citizens—PDRM is collaborating with Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) to implement stricter over-the-counter withdrawal protocols. This is a crucial step in safeguarding community savings from increasingly complex fraud.

🏫 Prioritizing School Safety: The police are intensifying MPV patrols around school perimeters. Furthermore, School Liaison Officers (PPS) have been empowered to take proactive measures against bullying and drug abuse. PDRM also took the opportunity to clarify that the legal driving license eligibility remains at 16 years.

🛣️ Traffic Management & Road Safety: A firm commitment was made by the Traffic Division to crack down on illegal racing (Mat Rempit) in the surrounding areas. Additionally, plans are underway to expedite the removal of abandoned accident vehicles to ensure smoother traffic flow and improved local aesthetics.

Representing the PJS 9 community, Goh Chong Hing extended his sincere appreciation to ACP Wan Azlan bin Wan Mamat (Subang Jaya OCPD) and SAC Mohamad Fakhrudin bin Abdul Hamid for their unwavering dedication. Their success in reducing the local crime index and the measurable impact of their anti-bullying initiatives have significantly enhanced the safety of our families.

The Selangor Chief of Police reminded attendees that while traditional crime rates are declining, we must remain vigilant against emerging threats, specifically cybercrime and synthetic drugs.

KRT PJS 9 remains dedicated to working hand-in-hand with our local police to ensure our streets stay safe and our community remains connected.

Stay safe, stay informed.

Friday, 13-03-2026 Strengthening the Spirit of Muhibbah at Surau Al-Mukminin PJS 9

We at KRT PJS 9 were honored to be invited by Surau Al-Mukminin to the Iftar last evening, bringing together residents of all backgrounds to celebrate the blessings of Ramadan.

The evening began with a solemn Tahlil session—a tradition of communal prayer and remembrance—joined by Muslim residents and invited guests, setting a tone of peace and togetherness.

The Iftar saw many distinguished guests in attendance, including:
> Y.B. Tuan Dr. Mohammad Fahmi Bin Ngah (Selangor State Exco for Islamic Affairs)
> YB Michelle Ng (ADUN Subang Jaya)
> Tuan Pravin Murali (MBSJ Councilor for Zone 2)
> Tuan Goh Chong Hing (Chairman of KRT PJS 9)
> Tuan Chandra Pateel (President of the Resident Association PJS 9).

In his speech, Y.B. Tuan Dr. Mohammad Fahmi Bin Ngah highlighted something truly special about Subang Jaya. He noted that our Masjids and Suraus stand out because of the active participation of our non-Muslim friends as invited guests.

He reminded us that this spirit of mutual respect is deeply rooted in Islamic history—reflecting the time of Prophet Muhammad in Makkah, where diverse communities lived side-by-side in harmony.

This spirit was recently on full display during KRT PJS 9 Bubur Lambuk program, where the majority of the volunteers who helped prepare and distribute the porridge were our non-Muslim residents. It is this hands-on involvement that makes PJS 9 a 'model' of true Malaysian unity.

Following the Iftar, the muslim community performed the Tarawih prayer—special night prayers that are a hallmark of this holy month.

This was followed by a Khatam Al-Quran ceremony. This completion of the Quranic recitation carries even deeper significance as we observe Nuzul Quran, the anniversary of the night the Quran was first revealed to the Prophet Muhammad. Completing the Khatam during this period is a way to honor the "birth" of these sacred teachings, emphasizing the values of knowledge and guidance that bind us together.

At KRT PJS 9, the spirit of Muhibbah is our guiding principle. We believe that true community strength comes from involving everyone in our activities and projects.

We are glad that this year Surau Al-Mukminin is taking the right steps in collaborating and working together for the benefit of the entire community.

Our sincere thanks to Haji Razak Yusof, Chairman of Surau Al-Mukminin, and all the Committee Members for the kind invitation. It is through these joint efforts that we build a better, more connected PJS 9 for everyone.

Saturday, 07-03-2026 A Tradition of Unity: KRT PJS 9 Bubur Lambuk 2026

KRT PJS 9 once again upheld its long-standing tradition with our annual Bubur Lambuk Program. What makes our program truly significant every year is the incredible participation of our non-Muslim community members, who make up the majority of the volunteers. It is a beautiful reflection of the inclusive spirit we cherish here in PJS 9.

The Science & Art of the Perfect Pot - The day kicked off at 9:30 AM with high energy as we set up the stoves and prepared the rice and condiments. We’ve learned over the years that making a truly delicious bubur lambuk is both a science and an art.

Beyond the constant stirring needed to prevent the rice from sticking and turning bitter, the precise timing of when the ingredients, aromatic spices, and santan (coconut milk) are added is absolutely crucial. Adding them at just the right moment ensures the flavors are perfectly balanced and the texture is rich and creamy. This meticulous process kept everyone excited and engaged as we worked toward our goal.

By 12:30 PM, we had successfully prepared and packed approximately 450 containers of high-quality bubur lambuk.

Sharing the Blessings with Our Partners - In the same spirit of giving, we were also grateful to receive 50 packs of chicken rice from What a Waste (WaW), a leading Malaysian social enterprise dedicated to tackling food waste and poverty.

With the help of Mr. Ruben Singh, representing Councilor Pravin Murali, we distributed these meals along with our bubur lambuk to:

> Our Frontliners: A majority of the chicken rice was delivered to the Balai Polis Bandar Sunway and Balai Bomba Subang Jaya.

> Our community: Residents of PJS 9, Indah Court PJS 11, and local suraus in PJS 7 and PJS 10.

> Township Support: The Security Team from Sunway Group, who keep our area safe.

> Street Distribution: Reaching out to commuters and passers-by at the Gate 3 entrance.

For years, KRT PJS 9 has championed the spirit of Gotong-Royong. Bubur lambuk is the perfect example of a program that requires collective effort—from the heavy lifting and precise timing at the stoves to the logistical coordination.

A huge thank you to everyone who spent their morning with us, to Ruben Singh for his assistance, and to our volunteers who make this tradition a success every year. Not to forget Puan Rozazitah Ahmad and her team members, our contracted chef for guiding us throughout the cooking process.

Saturday, 28-02-2026 Community Spirit in a Bowl: The PJS 9 Bubur Lambuk Tradition with Surau Al-Mukminin

On February 28th, 2026, the spirit of togetherness was in full bloom as KRT PJS 9 proudly supported the Bubur Lambuk program, organized by Surau Al-Mukminin PJS 9.

It was a truly heartening sight to see residents from all walks of life—both Muslim and non-Muslim—coming together to cook, pack, and distribute this seasonal favorite. The Gotong-Royong effort kicked off at 9:30 AM, and by 3:00 PM, we successfully distributed 600 packs of delicious bubur lambuk to the community.

Our mission was to share the blessings as widely as possible. The distribution reached:

> Residents of PJS 9, PJS 10, and PJS 11.

> Our neighbors at Surau Al-Bukhari PJS 7.

> Balai Polis Bandar Sunway.

> Commuters and passers-by at the Gate 3 entrance, where our security team handed out packs directly on the street.

Bubur lambuk is a significant cultural cornerstone of Ramadan in Malaysia, symbolizing the spirit of generosity and community. As a savory rice porridge traditionally prepared in large quantities at mosques and suraus, it is distributed for free to ensure everyone has a nutritious meal to break their fast. The preparation process fosters the spirit of Gotong-Royong, bringing together neighbors of all backgrounds to stir, pack, and share, turning a religious tradition into a shared experience of kindness and unity.

From a practical standpoint, the dish is designed to be gentle on the digestive system after a day of fasting. Infused with warming spices like ginger, cinnamon, and star anise, it provides a balanced and easily digestible meal that promotes wellness. In our multicultural landscape, it acts as a powerful bridge for social harmony, welcoming everyone to celebrate these shared values together.

A massive thank you goes out to:

> Councilor Pravin Murali, our MBSJ Councilor for MPP Zone 2, for taking the time out of his busy schedule to join us and personally help distribute the bubur lambuk

> Surau Al-Mukminin for initiating this wonderful collaborative effort.

> KRT PJS 9 members who dedicated their Saturday to ensure the program's success.

> All the residents who stopped by to help or share a smile during the distribution.

We are also excited to share that this event was featured in the March 2026 edition of SJ Echo! It’s wonderful to see our community’s hard work recognized on a wider platform.

Let’s keep this spirit of unity alive.

Sunday, 22-02-2026 Update from Kebun Komuniti

After the festive celebrations, our garden continues to give back to the community. Today, Ken harvested a generous supply of snake long beans, papaya and pisang emas — fresh, healthy and grown locally with care by our community members.

A post-CNY harvest like this is meaningful. It symbolises renewal, continuity and shared prosperity — values that align perfectly with the spirit of the new year.

Every basket harvested reflects the consistent effort of volunteers who water, fertilise, maintain and monitor the crops throughout the season. Small scale, but high impact.

Kebun Komuniti PJS 9 is not just a planting space. It represents:

• Strong neighbourhood collaboration
• Practical urban farming education
• Sustainable and responsible food production
• Cross-community bonding beyond festive seasons

If anyone is interested to purchase today’s harvest, please contact Ken +60 19-334 6562 or Patsy +60 12-887 1029 directly.

Support local. Eat fresh. Strengthen community resilience.
