🌾 During our last holiday programme, we explored “Where Does Rice Come From?” This time, we're bringing the inquiry to life!
Through a special arrangement with Project M.A.R.S., the children will get to experience rice planting firsthand and discover the journey of rice beyond the classroom. 🌱❤️
From curiosity to hands-on discovery, let's learn together!

Project M.A.R.S. First Rice Planting Session
( LIMITED SPOT AVAILABLE )
Pop grew up in a rice-farming family in Isan, Thailand. He started helping in the paddy field when he was just 3 years old. So for him, growing rice is not something he learned from a book. It is something he grew up with.
This time, we thought, why not bring this part of his life to M.A.R.S. and share it with more people?
Rice is something we eat almost every day.
But honestly, how many of us really know how rice grows?
We know rice comes from the paddy, but most of us have never actually stepped into a paddy, planted rice, waited for it to grow, or experienced what a farmer goes through before the rice finally comes to our plate.
We simply eat it. And sometimes, we take it for granted.
o we would like to take this small opportunity to slow down and reconnect with something so basic, yet so important in our everyday life.
WHAT WE WILL LEARN TOGETHER
✓ How rice grows
✓ How to plant rice
✓ How to grow rice at home
✓ A little bit of the Isan rice farmer's life
Pop will share stories from growing up in a rice-farming family — how they grow rice, how they work with the seasons, what they eat, and some of the challenges that farmers experience.
✓ The music of rice
Rice is also part of culture, celebration and everyday life. Pop will share some of the music and stories from Isan that are connected to his life and the rice fields.
✓ Rice tasting
✓ Forest-to-Table lunch by Halo House
After planting, we will sit together and enjoy a simple Forest-to-Table lunch at M.A.R.S.
✓ And if you like... a little taste of our own rice w**e too.
And maybe after this , when you eat your next bowl of rice, you will think a little differently about where it came from.
Let's learn from the paddy, from Pop, from each other and from the rice itself.
