📍 eVCA Training 2026 Successfully Completed

The Enhanced Vulnerability and Capacity Assessment (eVCA) Training was successfully conducted from 3–7 June 2026 at MRCS Sibu Branch, with the participation of 23 participants from MRCS Sarawak Chapter, MRCS Sibu Branch, and MRCS Miri Branch.

The training aimed to: ✅ Strengthen community assessment skills
✅ Identify vulnerabilities and local capacities
✅ Enhance disaster preparedness and community resilience
✅ Support evidence-based humanitarian planning and action

Thank you to all participants, facilitators, and organizers for their commitment and active participation. This programme marks a significant milestone as the first eVCA training conducted in Borneo.

🌟 eVCA Opening Ceremony 2026 🌟
Today marks the official opening of the Enhanced Vulnerability and Capacity Assessment (eVCA) Programme at the Malaysian Red Crescent Society (MRCS) Sibu Branch.

We are honoured to welcome participants, facilitators, and distinguished guests who have joined us for this important programme. The eVCA initiative aims to strengthen community resilience by identifying vulnerabilities, assessing local capacities, and empowering communities to better prepare for future challenges.

This programme is especially significant as it is the first eVCA programme to be hosted in Borneo, marking an important milestone for the Malaysian Red Crescent Society and communities throughout the region.

We extend our sincere appreciation to MRCS National Headquarters, MRCS Sarawak Chapter, facilitators, volunteers, and all partners for their continuous support and commitment towards building safer and more resilient communities.

Today, we commemorate World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day 2026 under the theme “United in Humanity”, celebrating the spirit of compassion, solidarity and humanitarian action that unites communities across the world.

This meaningful occasion honours the legacy of Henry Dunant, founder of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, whose vision more than 160 years ago continues to inspire humanitarian service today.

Above all, we pay tribute to the millions of volunteers and staff worldwide who continue to serve communities in times of crisis — providing protection, emergency assistance, healthcare, relief and hope to those in need.

Let us continue to recognise and support the unwavering dedication of Malaysian Red Crescent volunteers and the global Red Cross and Red Crescent family in delivering humanitarian assistance with humanity, impartiality and compassion.
