[ENVIRONMENTAL TALK]

Environmental law is a very prevalent area of law especially in this day and age. Natural resources are depleting due to unsustainable practices and various environmental pollutions are affecting our livelihood. The Malaysian government is tackling this issue through strengthening environmental legislations and imposing heavier penalties on those who unlawfully exploit natural resources.

However, are heavier penalties what we need to save the environment?

Dr Sarah Tan, a UM law lecturer who specialises in environmental law suggests that perhaps an environmental provision in the Malaysian Constitution is the more effective approach.

ALSA HELP has invited Dr Sarah to give a lecture on a constitutional environmental provision on 21 April 2016 (Thursday) from 12-2PM at LT 2.3, Level 2, Wisma HELP.

It is a great honour to have Dr Sarah coming in to enlighten us on how this alternative approach can trigger a more effective environmental protection.

Kindly register with Lee Rui Ci at 011-28048050. See you there!
