This class trains you to think critically, speak confidently, and argue persuasively. We believe debate is for everyone: with motivation and curiosity, you’ll always prevail.

✨ By the end of our April class, you will be able to:

* Develop *3-part rebuttals* to engage with any arguments
* ⁠Formulate *holistic argument structures* on any topic
* ⁠Explain the *principles of Democracy* and the *incentives of political actors*
* ⁠Describe & explain *monetary & fiscal policies* , *privatization & nationalism* , the *Climate Economy,* and *capitalism & socialism*

MSU Debates strikes back at Ramadan Debate Open 2026. Ramadan Debate Open 2026 is an online debate tournament organised by Pakistan Debate Forum to celebrate the month of Ramadan (our team had to debate from 10pm - 5am). With a total of 63 teams, 125 debaters from Pakistan, Serbia, Australia, Poland, Croatia and many others!

Our team hailed as the Open Pre-semifinalists, as well as the Overall Best Novice Team and 9th Best Open Team. Benteny Ooi was awarded the Overall Best Novice Speaker as well as 12th Best Open Speaker. While Sahel Basheer was awarded as the 2nd Best Novice Speaker and the 15th Best Open Speaker.

On 28th November, Benteny Ooi from MSU Debate Club was invited to judge at Shanghai Speech and Debate Invitational 2025 Fall which involved young debaters from all over Asia with over 400 participants🔥, representing the MSU debate club and Malaysia.

This marks a first step for MSU Debate to be involved in the international debating circuit while also contributing to the community. We look forward to see more MSU debaters representing us in the international stage.
