Still not over how fun our Ascendance Day Out was 😭🎥✨

Ascendance Day Out is basically our way of bringing young people together to experience new industries, explore cool spaces, and learn beyond the classroom 👀🫶

This time, we headed to ET Boost Studio and got a real behind-the-scenes look into the world of production, storytelling, and podcasting 🎬🎙️🔥

From exploring the studio setup to trying out video production ourselves and even to designing and recording their very own podcast, it was honestly such a fun and eye-opening experience. So happy seeing everyone step out of their comfort zone, meet new people, and just have fun together 🥹✨

Anddd this is only the beginning… 👀

Are we really using AI the right way, especially since it is now a big part in how students learn? 🤔🤔🤔

I think many of us would agree that over-reliance on AI reduces students’ independent thinking and deeper understanding, and there is only very limited evidence that it actually improves student learning outcomes😮‍💨

While it is a concerning issue, there is an important point we’re missing out: Have we really taught the young how to use AI with purpose? 😯

Recently, through our AI Meets Purpose Masterclass, we witnessed what happens when students are guided differently. Instead of using AI to help with homework, they were challenged to create something meaningful.

And within just 2 weeks, our participants aged between 10 to 19 years old, built over 15 AI-powered assistants to solve real problems in their daily lives 🤯

Maybe the issue isn’t AI itself, but whether we’re guiding students to use it with intention 🙂

Five months after the launch of ChatGPT, Sal Kahn, the founder of the online learning giant Kahn Academy, predicted that, “We’re at the cusp of using AI for probably the biggest positive transformation that education has ever seen.” As of now, this appears to have been an aspirational proclama...

We have something special to share with you! 🤩

Last weekend, we kicked off our first Filmmaking 101 Masterclass with over 70 participants joining from 12 states across Malaysia 🔥🥳

Huge shoutout to our Co-Founder and international award-winning documentary filmmaker, Sanadt Kumar, who led the session focusing on scriptwriting and helping our participants turn their ideas, values and experiences into meaningful content!

The best part is that they actually got to create and write scripts for short form videos in real-time together with Sanadt, learning from examples and feedback 🫶🏻

This is the kind of learning we believe in: hands-on, engaging, supportive and real.

It’s incredible to see so many young people stepping up to build skills beyond the classroom and we highly look forward to our next session! Stay tuned for more exciting updates ❤️

SPM results just came out 🤩 and congratulations to all of our hardworking students!

Now comes the real question: Are these grades enough to prepare students for the future? 🤔

I recently came across this interesting article that shows while student engagement in schools are improving, 43% of students still don’t feel ready for what comes next. The difference lies in how students learn and experience their education!

Those who experience meaningful and engaging environments are far more confident about their future😉

This raises an important question for parents and teachers: Are we equipping students with more than just academic results?

At Ascendance, we believe true learning comes through experiential learning experiences where students get to apply, explore, and grow in real-world contexts, alongside good academic results as well! ❤️
