Yayasan Khazanah is a foundation established by Khazanah Nasional Berhad – the investment holding arm of the Government of Malaysia. Yayasan Khazanah is entrusted to select, support, groom and nurture exceptional individuals who will eventually take on high-level positions in the best organisations including the Government-Linked Companies (GLCs) in Malaysia. This mission is in line with Khazanah

Nasional’s commitment to the active development of human capital to ensure that Malaysia continues to improve its competitiveness on the global stage. As a start, Yayasan Khazanah grooms talents and helps them build their capabilities by offering scholarships to pursue studies at Malaysia’s premier universities or at the world’s renowned institutions of higher learning. 🌍🏆 Congratulations to our scholar, Zhen-Yen Chan (far right) currently pursuing an MSc in Data Science and Machine Learning at UCL, whose team won First Prize at the UCL Climate Futures Lab!

Together, the team developed a framework and calculator that helps organisations estimate the environmental impact of their AI usage. By measuring the carbon footprint of different AI models and tasks, the tool enables companies to make more sustainable AI decisions while supporting ESG reporting.

As winners, the team also had the opportunity to present their work to senior UCL leaders at the Extended Learning Showcase.

At Yayasan Khazanah, we are proud to see our scholars collaborating to develop innovative solutions that address real-world challenges and contribute towards a more sustainable future.

From financial hardship to frontier research, Dr. Dahlila Putri Binti Dahnil Sikumbang’s story is proof that the right opportunity can change everything. A Khazanah Watan Scholar and postgraduate alumnus from Multimedia University, she is now a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Information Science and Technology, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM).

Her research focuses on developing innovative assistive technology for Braille learning, bridging academia with real-world impact for blind students and underserved communities.

For Dr. Dahlila, the scholarship was more than financial support. It gave her the freedom to pursue her PhD full-time while raising four children, and the platform to grow as a leader — through training, GLC exposure, and international conference opportunities she never thought possible.

Today, her mission is clear: to ensure that no student is left behind, and that knowledge is channelled toward those who need it most. Because of Yayasan Khazanah, giving back has become her lifelong commitment to Malaysia 🇲🇾✨

Yesterday, we successfully wrapped up our Scholar Onboarding Session for the newest cohort of Undergraduate (A-Level/Foundation) and Postgraduate scholars from the Khazanah Global, Watan and Lestari Programmes. ✨

The session introduced scholars to the mission and values of the Khazanah Scholarship Programme, while providing guidance on their roles and responsibilities, academic preparedness, adapting to new environments, and maintaining their overall wellbeing. Key administrative matters, reporting requirements, and available support systems were also covered. More importantly, yesterday’s session reiterated that this journey is not just about scholarships or programme structures, but about our role in identifying, nurturing and empowering talent for Malaysia’s long-term development and nation-building, including supporting scholars through the last mile of their journey, from study to employment.📚🎓

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to Puan Siti Kamariah Ahmad Subki, Managing Director and Trustee of Yayasan Hasanah, and Trustee of Yayasan Khazanah, for her inspiring words of encouragement. Our sincere thanks also go to Dato’ Mohamed Nasri Shallehuddin, Chief Corporate Officer & General Counsel Company Secretary of Khazanah Nasional Berhad, for sharing his valuable insights and advice.

Our appreciation also goes to Dr. Raslan and the Khazanah Strategic Human Capital Management (SHCM) team for introducing scholars to Khazanah Nasional Berhad and its purpose. A special thank you to our alumni speakers Shenn, Nizzam, Nadiatul and Nurin for sharing their personal journeys and inspiring our scholars as they begin this new chapter.

Driven by love for traditional Malay literary and performing arts, our Khazanah Watan Scholar, Aisyah Shofwa binti Suhaimie, continues to pursue opportunities to showcase her passion through various national competitions and performances. 🎭🎤

Aisyah is currently in her first year of study, pursuing a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) at the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). Beyond her academic commitments, she has always been passionate about traditional performing arts and actively participating in platforms that allow her to grow and deepen her enthusiasm for these art forms. ✨

On 13 May 2026, Aisyah represented IIUM at the Pertandingan Dendangan Syair IPT 2026, held at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities (FSSK), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). After successfully advancing through two rounds of selection, she was named among the Top 10 finalists and went on to secure 2nd Runner-Up, competing alongside outstanding penyair from higher education institutions across the country.

Continuing this journey, on 6 June 2026, Aisyah was selected to represent IIUM in Ensemble of Gamelan 2026. She was entrusted with the role of main lead performer for Naskhah Sebuah Ceritera, where she delivered a poetry recital accompanied by a live gamelan ensemble in what is regarded as one of the showcase’s most technically demanding performances.

We are proud to see Aisyah pursuing what she loves while balancing her academic journey with such dedication. Congratulations on these achievements, and we look forward to seeing where her journey takes her next.🌟

On 20th June 2023, Managing Director and Trustee of Yayasan Hasanah, and Trustee of Yayasan Khazanah, Puan Siti Kamariah Ahmad Subki, graced the KYUEM Awards Day 2026 as Guest of Honour. ✨

Among the graduates were 31 Khazanah scholars who have secured multiple offers from some of the world’s leading universities. 🌎

Reflecting on her own journey as a Renong Trust Fund scholar, Puan Siti shared how she once sat in the same hall as a 19-year-old, uncertain of what lay ahead. Returning years later to address a new generation of scholars, she reminded graduates to embrace opportunities, stay grounded in their values, and strive to create meaningful impact. 🎓
