Filial Piety, Love, Compassion, and Reverence - Cultivating Blessings with a Heart of Gratitude
In our previous post, we spoke about filial piety. Setting up memorial tablets is a way to remember our ancestors and departed loved ones, expressing gratitude for their nurturing care and protection.
Who we are today is built upon the countless sacrifices, kindness, and conditions created by those who came before us. Through the Emperor Liang Repentance Dharma Assembly, we dedicate the merits of prostrations, sutra recitation, and repentance to our ancestors as an expression of remembrance, gratitude, and filial piety.
Today, let us also turn our attention to the present.
Beyond being grateful for the past, let us cherish the people around us. Family, friends, or those who have helped us along the way are all precious karmic connections.
Longevity Tablets - Offering Blessings Through Love
Offering a Longevity Tablet is a heartfelt way to dedicate our blessings to our living loved ones. Through this Dharma Assembly, we wish for peace, good health, wisdom, harmonious relationships and auspicious conditions for ourselves and our loved ones.
Vegetarian Food Offering - Sharing Goodness with Compassion
Offering vegetarian meals is a traditional act of generosity and devotion to the Triple Gem while cultivating and compassion.
It also supports the Buddhist society and nurtures generosity, creating blessings and merit through benefiting others.
Offerings to the Buddhas and Devas - Expressing Gratitude with Reverence
As disciples of the Buddha, we should always be grateful for the Buddha's teachings and for the compassionate protection of the Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and Dharma Protectors.
Making offerings to the Buddha and the Devas with pure offerings is an expression of our reverence and gratitude toward the Triple Gem.
Such offerings not only increase blessings and wisdom, but also remind us to cultivate gratitude, learn from the Buddha's compassion and wisdom, and apply the Dharma in daily life.
The Emperor Liang Repentance Dharma Assembly is a precious opportunity to dedicate merits to the departed and plant seeds of blessings, as well as practice of gratitude and compassion.
We warmly invite everyone to participate in the Longevity Tablets, Vegetarian Food Offerings, and Offerings to the Buddha and the Devas. Let us come together to pay homage to the Buddha, perform repentance, and cultivate abundant fields of merit.
Embodying filial piety, love, compassion, and respect - may we all be nourished by the Dharma rain.
