Winning in a cat show does not automatically mean you will excel in a Cat Grooming Certification & Competition and the same applies the other way around.

A Cat Show Competition primarily evaluates the cat based on its breed standard, condition, temperament, presentation, and overall quality.

A Cat Grooming Certification & Competition, on the other hand, focuses on evaluating the groomer. Judges assess the groomerโ€™s knowledge, handling skills, grooming techniques, safety practices, product selection, tool usage, workflow, time management, and the overall transformation of the cat. The cat is the model but the groomer is the one being assessed.

If you have won in cat show competitions, we warmly invite you to experience the challenge of a Cat Grooming Certification & Competition. Youโ€™ll discover that the judging criteria, required skills, techniques, and objectives are entirely different.

Likewise, if you have previously won in any Cat Grooming Certification & Competition whether organised by ISFC, MCGA, IGA, UCA or any other organization we encourage you to continue competing. Every competition is another opportunity to learn, improve, and benchmark your skills.

Over the years, we have seen champions, experienced competitors, and even those regarded as โ€œexpertsโ€ in cat shows or grooming competitions fail or not pass a grooming certification assessment. We have also seen first-time competitors achieve outstanding results.

That is the beauty of certification and competition. It is not about reputation or previous titles, it is about demonstrating your competency, skills, and professionalism on the day of the assessment.

If you donโ€™t pass, donโ€™t be discouraged. It does not mean you are not a good groomer. It simply means there are areas to improve. Accept the feedback, refine your techniques, and come back stronger. Every unsuccessful attempt is another step towards becoming a better groomer.

Donโ€™t just be a groomer. Be a groomer who never stops learning.

Majlis Dialog Datuk Azman Abidin bersama Agensi, NGO dan Pemain Industri Haiwan pagi ni di Komune Jalan Tun Razak.

Encik Mazlan Chik Rus mewakili Puan Presiden dengan di temani En Akid Tharmizi hadir membawa 2 usul dari MCGA.

Usul 1:
Memohon peruntukan dana bagi melatih pemilik dan pengendali pusat perlindungan haiwan (cat shelter) dalam bidang dandanan kucing profesional agar kebajikan, kesihatan dan kesejahteraan kucing yang ditempatkan di pusat perlindungan dapat dipertingkatkan. Latihan ini juga bertujuan meningkatkan kemahiran pengurusan penjagaan kucing, mengurangkan risiko penyakit kulit dan bulu, serta meningkatkan peluang kucing untuk diadopsi.

Usul 2:
Memohon peruntukan dana bagi membiayai perkhidmatan dandanan kucing jalanan yang diselamatkan di salon dandanan kucing yang diiktiraf bagi memastikan kucing menerima penjagaan kebersihan dan kesihatan yang sewajarnya. Inisiatif ini dapat membantu menangani masalah kutu, penyakit kulit, bulu kusut, serta meningkatkan tahap kesihatan dan kebolehterimaan kucing untuk proses pemulihan dan pengambilan sebagai haiwan peliharaan.

Semuga usul dari MCGA yg mewakili pihak groomer dapat dimasukkan utk Bajet 2027 dan seterusnya di luluskan. Sama2 kita doakan ๐Ÿ’š.

The Malaysia Cat Groomers Association (MCGA) is proud to announce the launch of the Malaysia Directory of Cat Salon/Spa, Cat Grooming Centres & Cat Grooming Services 2026.

This initiative is introduced to establish the first comprehensive directory dedicated to the professional cat grooming industry in Malaysia. It aims to provide a trusted platform that showcases grooming businesses nationwide while making it easier for cat owners to locate professional cat grooming services.

โ“Why is this directory important

๐Ÿฑ To promote and recognise professional Cat Salons, Cat Spas, Cat Grooming Centres and independent Cat Grooming Service providers throughout Malaysia.

๐Ÿฑ To provide cat owners with a reliable reference when searching for professional grooming services.

๐Ÿฑ To strengthen networking and collaboration among businesses within the feline grooming industry.

๐Ÿฑ To increase public awareness of professional and ethical cat grooming practices.

๐Ÿฑ To support the continuous growth and development of Malaysiaโ€™s cat grooming industry.

MCGA warmly invites all Cat Salons, Cat Spas, Cat Grooming Centres and independent Cat Grooming Service providers to be part of this landmark publication.

A token participation fee of RM50 per business will be collected to support the design, publication, printing, and distribution of the directory.

Each participating business will receive:
โœ… Listing in the Malaysia Directory of Cat Salon/Spa, Cat Grooming Centres & Cat Grooming Services 2026
โœ… One complimentary copy of the completed directory
โœ… Greater exposure to cat owners, industry partners, and the public
