It is summer again, and the time has come for the last meeting of our club this year! 🎺🫡

Letting go and moving forwards is a mantra that is easier heard than done. It is never a truly simple matter when one sends off friends or close a chapter in ones life. 🐛 Life never goes on without change, how many can truly say that they are the exact same person as they were one or two years ago? Yet change can also bring life in turn, who amongst us have never earned more growth and wisdom when plunged into a new facet of life's experiences? 🦋🌼

In Toastmasters, we believe that growth can be attained through support of a collective 🫂; to embody support and confidence, and to encourage courage into learning is the greatest honour we Toastmasters dare to strive towards every week 📣. Yet, summer will have to meet autumn, this club will be put into hibernation for the foreseeable future under current circumstances. 🍂 However, as one door closes, others tend to reveal themselves in due time. 🚪

We need not scare ourselves in worry of what life brings us in the future; instead, let us rather press forward with an equal if not greater determination as our spirit when we first embarked on our journey! 🌇🌅

Come and be a storyteller with our Two Truths and One Lie Challenge in this week's meeting! 🗃❗

Humans thrive best on stories. 📕 As it is not fully possible to grasp every part of reality at once, we can at least make a set of "close enough" understandings that both satisfies our confusion and reinforces how we understand what we know. Storytellers, comedians, and public speakers through wordplay give us emotional experiences through describing things in special ways that ignite our imaginations and elevate our spirits thanks to this mental mechanism. 🔆

Thus, if you wish to one day impress your friends and family with an anecdote or story, the art of storytelling can help you make the mundane breathtaking and the fantastical lifelike. This week, we at Toastmasters will be holding a unique speech making challenge where you spin stories of your life, while your friends try to find out which tale truly happened. 🔊🗯

Did you visibly struggle, or perhaps you tried asking the question back to see if the question answers itself first? In life, we are often put in the spotlight to give answers long before we are ready to present them. As most conversations and encounters with other people in our daily life are unplanned, the topics may be sometimes of subjects we simply did not put to instinct-level memory. 🧠🗃

Tripping up at unexpected questions is a common experience to most people, even experienced public speakers, which is why we at Toastmasters believe we can help you train up your 'social defenses' through the power of impromptu speaking and quick thinking! 🎤💥
