"Shaping the Future of Pharmacy: MPS Strategic Blueprint 2025โ2030"
The Malaysian Pharmacists Society (MPS) successfully hosted its Annual Strategy & Planning Meeting 2025 from 5 Dec to 7 Dec 2025 at the Mรถvenpick Hotel & Convention Centre KLIA, bringing together Council Members, Area Committees (ACs), Chapters, Committees, Special Interest Groups (SIGs), and key stakeholders to coordinate strategies and prioritise initiatives for the year ahead.
With over 70 attendees, the meeting served as a platform to review achievements, reflect on progress, and chart actionable plans to enhance MPSโs leadership in driving pharmacy practice nationwide.
Key Highlights
1๏ธโฃ Collaborative Engagements Productive discussions were conducted with key stakeholders, including officers from the Pharmaceutical Services Programme (PSP) of the Ministry of Health and industry partners. PSP remains a vital strategic partner as we work together to enhance pharmacy services and align national-level initiatives. MPS also highlighted the significance of the Community Pharmacy (CP) Summit, reaffirming our commitment to continuous engagement with community pharmacists, who remain vital pillars of the profession. In addition, MPS brought forward the pressing issue of securing a resolution for the 730 senior contract pharmacists affected by the withdrawal of their reserve status, underscoring our continued advocacy for equitable and sustainable workforce policies within the pharmacy sector.
2๏ธโฃ Strategic & Administrative Strengthening Focused sessions among ACs, Chapters, Committees, and SIGs emphasised: Enhancing member engagement through more cohesive, harmonised activities, streamlining operational workflows, policies, and SOPs strengthening cross-functional coordination, ensuring ACs and SIGs continue to deliver value-driven events across all sectors of pharmacy, providing members with holistic professional development opportunities
3๏ธโฃ Forward-Looking Vision The meeting concluded with a unified direction towards shaping the Pharmacy 2030 Vision and FIP World Congress 2027 in Kuala Lumpur, reinforcing the professionโs evolving role within Malaysiaโs healthcare ecosystem and international involvement. ASPM 2025 successfully established a stronger foundation for collaboration, administrative excellence, and impactful initiatives that support MPS members and elevate pharmacy practice.
