Special Mission of Internet Alliance
Advocating the Voice of IA Members – ASP Licence Holders & Cloud Service Providers

IA continues its mission to represent and advocate the interests of its members, particularly ASP Licence Holders and Cloud Service Providers.

Today, we had the opportunity to meet with YB Lee Chean Chung, Member of Parliament for Petaling Jaya and Communications Director of PKR, to discuss the challenges faced by Cloud Service Providers following the imposition of the 6% Universal Service Provision (USP) Fund levy. This issue has raised significant concerns among industry players regarding its impact on business sustainability, competitiveness, and the continued growth of Malaysia's digital ecosystem.

We would like to express our sincere appreciation to YB Lee Chean Chung for his support and willingness to listen to the concerns of the industry. We are especially grateful that he recently brought this matter to Parliament, following the initial advocacy efforts led by IA Founding President, Cheung Loong Lee of IP ServerOne.

The 1.5-hour engagement was both insightful and productive, providing a valuable platform for constructive dialogue between policymakers and industry stakeholders. We are encouraged by YB Lee's commitment to understanding the challenges faced by the cloud services industry and exploring avenues for meaningful solutions.

Internet Alliance remains committed to representing the collective voice of its members and working closely with relevant stakeholders to foster a conducive environment that supports innovation, competitiveness, and the sustainable growth of Malaysia's digital economy.
