Malaysian Bengalee Association

Malaysian Bengalee Association MBA was founded to inculcate the cultural, intellectual and moral heritage among the community.

The Bengali Community meets up Members and Patrons in the community at least thrice a year during our major Bengali festivals: Paila Baishakh, Durga Puja and Kali Puja (held between April, and September to November). The Bengali Community has its own property overlooking the sea picturesque in Port Dickson, and here is where a Prayer Hall has been erected. Bengalis congregate from all over Penins

ular Malaysia and Singapore to celebrate Paila Baishakh and Kali Puja in Port Dickson. This property carries a sense of community spirit and ethnic pride, as it was purchased by our forefathers, a group of original Bengali Immigrants and who donated their half a month's salary for the property. Thus their second and third generation descendants now see it as 'a shrine'.

The Countdown Starts Now!
2 Days To Go!

"Desh o Prakriti - Rabindranather Aloke"
(Nation and Nature : In the light of Rabindranath)

This cultural evening celebrates Rabindranath Tagore’s profound understanding of prakriti (nature) and desh (nation) as interwoven forces that shape human thought, emotion, and responsibility.

Through a carefully curated flow of songs, dance, recitations, and a short skit, the programme presents Tagore’s philosophy as a living experience rather than a historical idea.

The evening opens in a contemplative mood, invoking nature as the source of life and creativity. Rabindra Sangeet, instrumental music, and poetic recitations reflect Tagore’s intimate relationship with the natural world—its seasons, rhythms, and quiet companionship with human emotion.

Dance compositions interpret these ideas through movement, portraying harmony, change, and renewal, while skits bring to life Tagore’s belief in nature as a moral guide and silent teacher.

Gradually, the programme transitions from prakriti to desh, suggesting that a true sense of nationhood grows from this deep-rooted connection with the land.

Through reflective songs and recitations, the audience is invited to consider Tagore’s vision of the nation not as a political construct alone, but as a shared ethical and emotional space.

Short skit and group performances highlight themes of unity, responsibility, and collective conscience, especially through the voices of youth.

The concluding segment brings nation and nature together, affirming Tagore’s belief that love for the country must be grounded in respect for humanity
and the natural world.

The evening ends on a hopeful note, reminding us that Tagore’s ideas continue to resonate through art, dialogue, and shared cultural expression.

Hanuman Jayanti celebrates the birth of Lord Hanuman, one of the most revered deities in Hinduism. It falls on the full moon day (Purnima) of the Chaitra month. In 2026, the festival is being observed on Thursday, April 2.

As per the Hindu calendar, the Chaitra Purnima Tithi began on April 1 at 7:06 AM and ended on April 2 at 7:41 AM. The auspicious Brahma Muhurta occurred from 04:59 AM to 05:45 AM, considered ideal for prayers and spiritual practices.

Lord Hanuman is widely worshipped as a symbol of strength, devotion, and loyalty, especially for his deep dedication to Lord Ram.
