Mensa Penang The High IQ Society Mensa Penang is a branch of the Malaysian Mensa Society. Get in touch with us for more information!

Mensa is an international society founded in 1946, in which the sole requirement for membership is a score at or above the 98th percentile on a standardized IQ tests. There are 3 main puposes of Mensa:
1) To identify and foster human intelligence for the benefit of humanity.
2) To encourage research into the nature, characteristics, and uses of intelligence.
3) To provide a stimulating intellectual and social environment for its members.

Brought a powerhouse crew of 30 members straight to the farm today for the ultimate weekend pilgrimage. Fresh drops, nature, and pure bliss! 🌲✨

Our DIY dégustation right under the trees was absolutely steady pom pi pi:
• The Bitter-Sweet: Deep, gao profile with a sharp, lingering bitter kick.
• The Velvet Cream: Smooth, buttery texture with notes of warm, creamy milk.
• The Golden Elixir: Rich, dense yellowish flesh with a heavy custard sweetness.

The best part wasn't just the gorgeous ang jin (golden flesh)—it was the syok atmosphere and the great company. Definitely an unforgettable day. Till the next drop! 🥂

Kicking off early May with the perfect blend of gastronomy and history! 🌸🍽️

To welcome the fresh energy of the season, our community embarked on a heritage-style food hunt across the vibrant and historical streets of Georgetown. There’s nothing quite like navigating through the rich architecture and bustling alleys of Penang to build an appetite and connect with the city's roots.

After hunting down some local favorites, we finally settled into a cozy spot to enjoy the moments and dive into a truly special conversation. Our senior members took us on a journey back in time, sharing incredible stories, milestones, and memories from the past 40 years of Mensa Penang.

It wasn’t just about enjoying great food—it was a deep dive into who we are. Hearing firsthand accounts of our community's evolution, intertwined with the broader culture and history of Penang, made this meetup absolutely unforgettable.

These shared moments remind us that to build a purposeful and impactful future, we must understand and celebrate our past. A massive appreciation to our senior members for keeping our history alive. Here is to preserving our heritage, fostering deep connections, and many more cultural food hunts to come!

What an electric Annual General Meeting Mensa Penang 2026! ✨

The energy in the room was truly inspiring as we reflected on an incredible journey. The latest reports are in, and thanks to the massive dedication of our committee, Mensa Penang has experienced unprecedented growth in both membership and visibility over the past two years. A massive thank you to everyone who paved the way and built this momentum! 🚀

As we step into the 2026–2027 term, we are thrilled to announce our new leadership: Mike Khoo Chiap Yang has been appointed as the Chairman of Mensa Penang, alongside Norman Lau, who steps up as our new Vice Chairman.

Moving forward, the new leadership is focused on a clear, purpose-driven vision:

Our Mensa Penang gang enjoyed a fun indoor archery session at Stars Archery QB Mall, joined by Mensans from Singapore 🇸🇬 and Australia 🇦🇺.

We continued with a SIGHT makan session at Robataya — shared stories, great food, and even better company. ✨
