Befrienders Penang We Care. We listen. The service that we offer is called Befriending. Please try again. Please be patient but we will surely get back to you when we can.

Befriending is non-judgmental, confidential emotional support that allows the caller to express his or her fears, worries and feelings to someone who has the time to listen. We offer this service in a number of ways:

* A telephone hotline service every day of the year
* Email befriending
* WhatsApp befriending

Our hotline 04-2910100 is manned during our operating hours (Daily : 3pm - 12 midnight) every day of the year by trained volunteers. There is no answering machine or automated response system on our hotline, so if you call us you will either speak to a Befriender or hear the busy signal. All our volunteers answer calls in English, but speak many of the major Malaysian languages and dialects. Our most recent addition, the WhatsApp befriending number is 011-56706261 is for those who prefer to use instant messaging instead of talking. Sometimes our volunteers maybe busy on the telephone so they might not be able to get back to you immediately.

I did not stop speaking because I did not have anything to say, I stopped because no one listens, understands or even care. Even in my silence I am being judged.

At Befrienders Penang, we listen, we would like to understand and most of all, we care, we are available daily from 3pm - 12mn via :-
