Introduction to Upanishads by Eketarinande Shankara !

10/08/2026

“Know the Atman (Self) as the lord of the chariot, and the body as the chariot. Know also the intellect to be the driver and mind the reins.”
(Katha Upanishad 1.3.3)

If the body is the chariot, the intellect its driver, and the mind its reins (then) who, then, is the one undertaking the journey?

This question opens our first Sanctuary Workshop Series: Prime Scripture Studies, as we enter the world of the Upanishads, not merely to read an ancient text, but to understand how one of humanity’s enduring intellectual traditions approached the Self, consciousness, and liberation.
