Following the adoption of International Labour Organization Convention No. 193 at the International Labour Conference in June 2026, the real work now begins: bringing the Convention home through national ratification and effective implementation.

Together with the International Trade Union Confederation - ITUC, the ITUC - Asia Pacific is organising a capacity-building session on the newly adopted Convention for trade unions across the region. Join us as we unpack what the ILO Convention No. 193 means for workers and trade unions.

Join us in this insightful event aimed at raising awareness on women migrant workers rights!

In part 2 of our collaboration with students and lecturers of Taylor's University's School of Liberal Arts and Sciences, we are doing an artistic theatre performance centered on female migrant workers. The performance is a creative expression of female migrant workers' lived realities. NSI's part in this collaboration is to facilitate a holistic conversation on the lived experiences of female migrant workers that is used to guide the performance and to partake in a panel discussion that expands the audience's knowledge on the subject matter.

We asked the students leading the booth campaign to give us an insight to what is the purpose of their booth and what do they aim to achieve with it. Their answers reflected how passionate and dedicated they were in representing the topic they chose to represent.

As a part of our mission to raise awareness among youth on issues of labor and worker rights, we collaborated with lecturers and undergrad students of International Relations program under School of Liberal Arts and Sciences in Taylor's University to candidly discuss issues related to labor and workers with students under the rights' based framework. The initiative seeks to enhance students' understanding of these issues and influence them to look at the subject matter through a lens of sensitivity and empathy.

In part 1 of this collaboration, NSI in partnership with Sahabat Wanita Selangor engaged with first year students to foster an understanding of how the value and dignity of labor is constructed and what implications these perceptions have on migrant workers, gig workers and feminization of labor. This was followed by students showcasing their understanding of the input sessions through different means. This booth campaign is a part of students effort to show their understanding of the subject matter

The interest and dedication of students throughout the process made this a heartwarming success.
