GreenRE Milestone: 500 Million Sq Ft of Certified Green Buildings

A milestone worth celebrating. A journey still unfolding.

As of March 2026, GreenRE has certified 500 million square feet of green buildings reflecting the industry’s growing shift towards sustainability at scale.

This includes:
300 million square feet under provisional certification
200 million square feet of completed projects
Over 20,000 acres of certified townships across Malaysia

Behind these numbers is real impact with more than 380,000 tonnes of CO₂ reduced annually, contributing to the transition towards a low-carbon future.

For 12 years, GreenRE has been working alongside industry partners to turn ambition into action shaping developments that are not only efficient, but future-ready.

From Malaysia to the region and beyond, the journey continues.

12 years of trust. And we’re just getting started.

500 Million Square Feet and Counting

GreenRE has surpassed 500 million square feet of certified green building space.

This milestone reflects more than growth it signals a shift in how the built environment is evolving.

Sustainability is no longer about aspiration. It is about performance, efficiency, and long-term value.

As energy pressures rise and expectations increase, developers are moving beyond intent towards solutions that are measurable, practical, and scalable.

This achievement belongs to the entire ecosystem developers, asset owners, financiers, and policymakers who have collectively driven this progress.

Commemorated alongside the recent International Sustainability Week (ISW) 2026 Soft Launch, this milestone was marked in the presence of YB Dato’ Sri Arthur Joseph Kurup, Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Malaysia.

Today, GreenRE-certified projects extend beyond Malaysia, demonstrating that a framework built for our market can deliver value across diverse environments.

But this is only the beginning.

The next phase will demand more greater consistency, deeper performance, and outcomes at scale.

Let’s build green. Let’s build better. Together.
