Lions Clubs International District 308B2 Provides RM4,000 Emergency Relief to Family Who Lost Two Daughters in Fire
Lions Clubs International District 308B2 Malaysia has approved RM4,000 in emergency financial assistance through its District Fellowship (DF) Emergency Relief Fund for a family who tragically lost two daughters in the recent fire in Kampung Koh, Sitiawan.
The application was submitted by Agnes Ng, First Vice President of the Lions Club of Ipoh Midtown, on behalf of the club, and was approved by District Governor Nicholas Seow Chee Choong.
Recently, Charter President Mandy Chan, accompanied by Agnes Ng and another fellow Lion, personally presented the financial assistance to the bereaved family.
Seow expressed his deepest condolences to the family and hoped that the contribution would help ease some of their immediate financial burdens.
“No amount of financial assistance can ever heal the pain of losing loved ones. However, we hope that through this contribution, we can provide some practical support and remind the family that they are not alone during this difficult time. Our community cares, and we stand together with them.”
Seow thanked the Lions Club of Ipoh Midtown for taking the initiative to understand the family’s needs, submitting the application and ensuring that the financial assistance reached the family.
He also expressed his appreciation to all contributors to the District Fellowship Fund, whose generosity makes such emergency assistance possible.
Agnes Ng, who is herself a contributor to the District Fellowship Fund, said that being personally involved in the application process had further strengthened her belief in the value and importance of the fund.
The District Fellowship Emergency Relief Fund was established to address urgent humanitarian needs within District 308B2. Applications are submitted by Lions clubs after assessing the actual needs of affected communities and are subject to review and approval by the District.
The initiative reflects the District’s commitment to turning contributions into meaningful assistance, ensuring that help reaches those who need it most, particularly during times of crisis.
Together…We Move Forward.
