The engagement seminar jointly organised by KPDN and SIRIM QAS International was successfully held this morning at SIRIM Shah Alam.

During the session, SIRIM shared that to date, over 200 companies have submitted applications, with 155 companies successfully approved as of yesterday. SIRIM strongly urged companies that have yet to apply not to delay further, as only five months remain before the enforcement deadline on 7 October 2026.

Puan Fauziah Fadzil, Senior General Manager of the Product Certification & Inspection Department of SIRIM QAS International, emphasised the importance of timely compliance with the certification and labelling requirements.

Meanwhile, Tuan Peter J. Berinus Agang, Director of the Intellectual Property Section under the Enforcement Division of KPDN, congratulated companies that have successfully obtained approval.

He also noted that more than 400 companies are currently in the application process and expressed hope that approvals will be granted soon. He highlighted that enforcement actions have previously been taken against non-compliant companies and reminded industry players to adhere strictly to the regulations to avoid penalties.

During the Q&A session, Madam Cherrie Lim, President of the Automotive Accessories Traders Association of Malaysia (AAA), raised a concern regarding the significant investment made by compliant companies in testing and certification. She further enquired whether, upon enforcement commencing on 7 October 2026, actions would also be taken against online sellers and brands that do not possess valid SIRIM certification and labelling, in order to ensure fairness and protection for compliant businesses.

In response, KPDN confirmed that enforcement will be carried out both offline and online. The ministry has a dedicated team monitoring online platforms and will take action against companies and products without valid licences and SIRIM labels, including removing such listings from online marketplaces.

The session concluded with an active Q&A, where participants raised various questions and received direct responses from the speakers. The seminar ended on a positive and constructive note.

由 KPDN 与 SIRIM QAS International 联合举办的行业交流研讨会已于昨日在 SIRIM Shah Alam 顺利举行。

SIRIM 表示，目前已有超过200家公司申请，其中155家已成功获批，并呼吁尚未申请的公司尽快行动，因距离2026年10月7日执法期限仅剩约5个月。

KPDN 方面也恭贺已获批企业，并指出目前仍有超过400家公司在申请过程中。同时提醒业者务必遵守相关规定，以避免执法行动及罚款。

在问答环节中，本会会长 Cherrie Lim 女士代表行业提出，业者已投入高额成本进行认证，询问执法开始后是否也会针对未具备 SIRIM 认证与标签的线上产品采取行动，以确保市场公平。

KPDN 回应表示，将同步加强线上与线下执法，并设有专责团队监控电商平台，对未符合规定的产品采取行动，包括下架处理。

本次会议在良好的交流气氛下圆满结束 。

本会已于2026年5月15日（星期五）下午3.30时，在吉隆坡会议中心（KLCC Convention Centre Hall 4 Lounge ）顺利召开2026年度会员代表大会（AGM）。

本次大会共有28位会员代表出席，已符合章程所规定之法定人数，大会各项议程均依法顺利进行并圆满完成。

大会一致通过以下事项：
• 2025–2026年度会务报告
• 2025–2026年度财政报告
• 大会提案：成立“政府与行业协调委员会”

该提案旨在加强本会与政府单位及地方政府之间的沟通与协调机制，进一步提升本会在行业中的代表性与影响力。

Good morning members,

The Association successfully convened its Annual General Meeting (AGM) 2026 on 15 May 2026 (Friday) at 3:00 PM at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC).

A total of 28 member representatives were present, meeting the quorum requirement as stipulated in the Constitution. All agenda items were duly carried out and the meeting was successfully concluded.

The following matters were unanimously adopted:
• Annual Report for 2025–2026
• Financial Report for 2025–2026
• AGM Motion: Establishment of the “Government and Industry Coordination Committee”

The purpose of this motion is to strengthen structured engagement between the Association and relevant government agencies as well as local authorities, and to further enhance the Association’s role and representation within the industry.

The Association would like to express its sincere appreciation to all members for their attendance and support, which contributed to the smooth running of the meeting. Further updates and relevant materials will be shared in due course via the group.

Dear Members,

Yesterday morning, President Cherrie Lim led members of the Association to attend a meeting with SIRIM, where discussions were held to better understand the issues faced by members in the lubricant certification application process.

The Association would like to express our appreciation to Tuan Ts. Hasnol bin Zakaria, Head of Industrial & Consumer Certification, and his team for their clarification and assistance during the meeting, as well as for sharing further insights on the application procedures and related requirements.

We would like to remind members involved in the lubricant business that KPDN requires certification applications to be submitted by July 2026. Following the application deadline, a three-month grace period will run until 7 October 2026, after which there will be no further extension.

If your company has already initiated an application but has not been actively following up on its certification progress, please do so promptly to avoid any impact on your business operations.

The Association hereby advises members to treat this matter seriously and to pay close attention to the certification timeline.

Thank you to the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) for inviting our association to a dialogue session.
