We convened our 34th Meeting on June 9th, featuring esteemed Guest Speaker Mr. Dickson Niew, who delivered an enlightening presentation on Numismatics, shedding light on how ancient coins and banknotes offer valuable insights into civilizations, history, politics, and culture.

Also the highlight for the evening, we extend a warm welcome to our new members, Chin Sern, Gunachitran, and PAG Rajagopal.

Who needs a tropical vacation when you have Dr. Stephen Leong? 🌴 He brought the house down with his 3 musical instruments, singing, and worldly tales at our 33rd meeting on May 26th, 2026! 🎶 Shoutout to P.P. Rianne for keeping the meeting shipshape while President David was having pad thai in Chiang Mai 🍜, and Rtn. Edward for capturing the magic with his camera skills 📸 - our Public Image committee is forever grateful! 🙏

Coincidentally the Rotary Club of Damansara-West was just meeting on the other end of Subang Dorsett! They had guests coming from Taiwan and mistakenly came to our meeting. Glad to guide them to the right club and meet some friend face past presidents! Be sure we meet up next time if we happen to be at the same hotel same time for meetings 🥰

The Rotary International President of the year 2020/21 and current The Rotary Foundation Chair, Holger Knaack, visited the 2 main projects we chartered namely Supermum and The National Kidney Foundation!

Here's what he had to say :

I had the opportunity to visit the National Kidney Foundation’s dialysis center. This is an important and meaningful project that was launched decades ago by your Rotary Club of Petaling Jaya. I would like to express my sincere thanks to the club for its ongoing support of this project, which is unfortunately becoming increasingly important as the number of patients rises. Congratulations also on the club’s involvement in the founding of the NKF, in which the Rotary Club holds four permanent seats on the board.
However, I would also like to highlight another project by the club. At the joint district conference for Districts 3300 and 3310, the Minister for Women, Family, and Community Development gave special recognition to a project by the RC Petaling Jaya, namely the “Super Mom” project.
I would also like to congratulate you on this—what a success and what a great honor to be recognized by the minister. Your projects are large-scale, long-term, and have a significant impact. This is exactly in line with the goals of The Rotary Foundation. With this wonderful projects, you have given your own RC Petaling Jaya the best possible gift for its 65th anniversary. You have indeed created lasting impact.
Congratulations and all the best for the future of your club.

This meaningful project, initiated decades ago by the Rotary Club of Petaling Jaya, continues to serve and support countless patients today. Grateful for his kind words and recognition towards the club’s long standing commitment to the community.
