🧠 Insight Session: Malaysian Mental Health Policy
✨ Guest of Honour: Dr. Nurashikin Ibrahim

Mental health awareness is growing, but awareness alone is not enough. To create real change, we need strong policies, accessible support systems, and a collective commitment from every level of society.

We are honoured to welcome Dr. Nurashikin Ibrahim, Director of Pusat Kecemerlangan Kesihatan Mental Kebangsaan (NCEMH), as our Guest of Honour for the Lift But Not Leave Mental Well-Being Advocacy Initiative Program.

Through this insight session, Dr. Nurashikin will share valuable perspectives on Malaysia’s mental health policy, the current direction of national mental health efforts, and how communities, youth leaders, organisations, and institutions can play a stronger role in supporting mental well-being.

This session reminds us that mental health is not only a personal matter. It is also a public health priority, a community responsibility, and a national conversation that must continue beyond one event.

📅 Date: 7 June 2026
📍 Venue: Perdana Siswa Complex, Universiti Malaya
💙 Program: Lift But Not Leave Mental Well-Being Advocacy Initiative Program

Together, let’s understand the bigger picture, strengthen the support ecosystem, and continue building a Malaysia where mental health is seen, heard, and supported.

🧠 Keynote Session: Behind the Smiles — Unmasking Youth Mental Health Today

A smile can hide many things.

Behind every cheerful face, there may be silent pressure, anxiety, stress, loneliness, or struggles that are not always visible to others. In today’s fast-moving world, many young people continue to carry emotional battles quietly while trying to appear “okay”.

Through this keynote session, we invite you to look beyond the surface and understand the real challenges affecting youth mental health today.

Featuring Maegann Yap, Executive Vice President of JCI Malaysia, and Dr Ng Chong Guan, Deputy President of the Malaysia Mental Health Association, this session will open a meaningful conversation on the importance of awareness, early support, and creating safe spaces for young people to speak up.

Mental health is not always seen, but it should always be taken seriously.

Join us as we uncover what lies behind the smiles — and learn how each of us can play a part in building a more caring and supportive community.

🧠 Panel Session 1: Youth Mental Health — Whose Responsibility Is It Really?

Youth mental health is no longer an issue that can be carried by young people alone.

When a young person struggles, who should step in?
Is it the responsibility of the individual, family, friends, schools, communities, organisations, or policymakers?

This panel session opens an honest conversation on the shared responsibility we all carry in creating a healthier, safer, and more supportive environment for youth.
Featuring Naufal, National Commissioner of Persekutuan Pengakap Malaysia, and Joyce Chao from Joy Mind Centre, this session brings together perspectives from youth leadership, community engagement, and mental well-being advocacy.

Together, we will explore how early support, active listening, peer awareness, and collective action can help break the stigma surrounding mental health.
Because youth mental health is not just a personal issue.
It is a community responsibility.

💙 Program: Lift But Not Leave Mental Well-Being Advocacy Initiative Program

Let’s build a future where young people are not only heard, but truly supported.
