The President’s Message:
Our Sincere Invitation to MDA MIDEC 2026
Dear esteemed colleagues and friends,
Every year, some may ask me, "Why MIDEC?"
The answer begins with our history.
In 2013, the Malaysian Dental Association celebrated its Diamond Jubilee—75 years of serving the dental profession. It was a milestone that inspired us to reimagine our traditional mid-year meeting into something much greater: an international platform where education, innovation, industry, and fellowship converge. Thus, the Malaysian International Dental Convention and Trade Exhibition (MIDEC) was born.
The MIDEC logo itself tells this story. It combines the image of a tooth with the iconic Kuala Lumpur skyline, symbolising dentistry meeting the world. The four landmark buildings within the logo represent the four pillars that make our profession thrive: dentists and dental professionals, the dental industry and trade, dental auxiliaries and technicians, and our future generation—dental students.
Today, that vision has grown beyond what many of us imagined.
We are delighted to invite you to MIDEC 2026, taking place from 21–23 August 2026 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC).
MIDEC has become the largest dental convention and trade exhibition in Malaysia and one of the leading dental events in Southeast Asia. Year after year, we continue to witness remarkable growth in attendance, reflecting the profession's commitment to lifelong learning, collaboration, and excellence.
But MIDEC is much more than lectures and exhibitions.
It is our gathering.
It is the one weekend each year where the Malaysian dental fraternity comes together under one roof—to learn together, celebrate together, reconnect with old friends, and build new professional relationships. Whether you are a student attending for the first time, a young practitioner building your career, or a senior colleague who has witnessed the evolution of our profession, we hope MIDEC feels like a homecoming.
This year's edition will be our biggest ever.
For the first time in MIDEC history, the exhibition will occupy four exhibition halls, featuring 304 exhibition booths—all completely sold out. It will truly be the one-stop destination to discover the latest technologies, products, innovations, and solutions shaping the future of dentistry.
Our scientific programme will feature more than 25 distinguished local and international speakers, delivered across up to three concurrent lecture halls, ensuring there is something valuable for every discipline and every stage of your professional journey.
However, the true success of MIDEC has never been measured by numbers alone.
MIDEC is organised by dentists, for dentists. Behind every lecture, exhibition booth, registration desk, and programme is a dedicated team of volunteers—your fellow MDA members—who generously contribute countless hours to create an event the profession can be proud of.
Your participation is therefore much more than attending a conference.
It is your support for the Malaysian Dental Association.
A strong MIDEC strengthens the MDA. A stronger MDA gives our profession a stronger voice. When we stand together as one united association, we are better positioned to advocate for our profession, represent our members, and place Malaysian dentistry firmly on the regional and international stage.
After all, an association is only as strong as the members who stand behind it.
Whether you are joining us from another state, another country, or from just across town, I extend my heartfelt and humble invitation for you to be part of MIDEC 2026.
Come to learn.
Come to discover.
Come to reconnect with friends and mentors.
Come to make new connections.
Most importantly, come because this is our profession, our association, and our annual reunion.
