MDOP 2026: Perfect Love Casts Out Fear

"When God’s children come together in prayer, something beautiful happens; we are drawn closer to Christ and to one another." - Bishop Rev. Wong Fui Kong, President of the Sabah Council of Churches.

On 16 September 2026, the annual Malaysia Day of Prayer (MDOP) Ecumenical Prayer Service took place at All Saints’ Cathedral, Kota Kinabalu, and was broadcast live to intercessors nationwide. This marked the first time in MDOP's 13-year history that the CCM-led Service was anchored in Sabah.

Jointly hosted by the Sabah Council of Churches, this year’s Prayer Service was attended by 575 Christians from across denominations. The attendees included Datuk Ewon Benedick, Deputy Chief Minister III of Sabah, who represented the Sabah State Government. In his official greetings, he highlighted the vital role of the church community, "Semoga rakyat pelbagai kaum, agama, bahasa dan sistem adat di negara ini terus bersama, bersatu dan berharmoni membina negara Malaysia yang lebih baik. Gereja, pimpinan gereja dan jemaat gereja sudah tentunya mempunyai sumbangan dan peranan besar sepanjang perjalanan membina negara Malaysia ini."

From the powerful opening declarations of “Great Is Thy Faithfulness” to the multilingual intercessions for our leaders, civil servants, and vulnerable communities, we stood united as one Body with one heart before God.

Thank you to the Archdiocese of Kuala Lumpur, Prayer United, Sabah Council of Churches, our regional church leaders, the choirs, the worship team, and every believer who joined us in person and via the livestream! Let us continue to unceasingly pray for our beloved nation!!

Observing CCM Sunday at Tamil Methodist Church KL. 13 Sept 2026

It was such a joy and a privilege to be able to join the congregation at TMC KL, in worship as they observed CCM Sunday and their Social Concerns Sunday yesterday. The day of ministry began with the Tamil Service at 8:00 AM, and then followed by the English Service at 12:15 AM.
Though it was a relatively long day, yet the heart rejoices to see the church actively involved in 'Proclaiming Hope, Serving Communities.'

May the Lord continue to bless the members and ministry of Tamil Methodist Church, Kuala Lumpur. 🙏
