*THE BOLD EQUATION: Session Descriptions*
*Session 1 | Paviter Kaur, Director – Deloitte Consulting (SEA)*
From Self-Doubt to Signature: Build the Brand Only You Can Own
A session on Imposter Syndrome, Personal Branding & Leading with Unapologetic Confidence.
Thousands of leaders, from Board Directors to rising stars, have admitted the same thing: they were waiting for permission to own their space. This session is that permission slip.
Paviter will dismantle the myth of imposter syndrome as a personal failing, reframing it as a structural problem that can be named, claimed, and used as fuel rather than a reason to stay silent. She will make the case for trust as a genuine strategic weapon, not a soft skill, but a competitive edge that we are all uniquely positioned to deploy in today’s leadership landscape. And she will draw a sharp line between a resume and a brand: one lists what you’ve done, the other tells the world who you are and why it matters.
Attendees will leave with a clear articulation of their leadership identity, their story, and the signature that makes them unmistakable, not louder, just undeniable.
*Session 2 | Jalbir Singh Riar, Partner – Ernst & Young*
Power Without Position: Building Influence, Wealth & Legacy in a Noisy World
A session on turning success into significance, through identity, relationships, and purpose that outlast any title.
In a world saturated with noise, credentials, and curated profiles, Jalbir will make a provocative argument: the most durable power has never come from a job title. It comes from who you are when the title is stripped away.
This session goes beyond wealth accumulation to examine what real influence looks like, built slowly through trust, intentional relationships, and a clarity of purpose that others can feel and follow.
Jalbir will challenge attendees to draw the line between being successful and being significant, and to ask the harder question: what will you be known for when the room goes quiet?
The goal is not just a bigger career. It’s a legacy that compounds long after you’ve left the building.
Session 3 | Panel Talk*
*Moderated by Meharvan Singh, Valuations Assoaciate, PwC*
*Roots, Reach & Reputation: Building a Career That Crosses Borders and Stands the Test of Time*
A candid conversation on what it really takes to lead, whether you’re building across countries or building deep within one.
Two distinct paths. One powerful truth: lasting careers are built on identity, not just opportunity.
Paviter brings the perspective of the global operator, working in a regional role in GE and Petrofac, then joining Deloitte in Malaysia, relocating to Jakarta, and expanding her remit across Southeast Asia, China and India, all while raising a family and leading some of the region’s most complex transformation work. She will speak to what it takes to stay grounded when the ground keeps shifting, adapting to new cultures, new stakeholders, and new contexts without losing your sense of self or your professional edge.
She will also share her perspective of what it takes to lead in a world built for men, making her way in the Energy industry and Professional Services industry - which are both generally masculine industries.
Jalbir brings the counter-perspective: the power of going deep. Joining EY as an Associate in 2007 and making Partner in 2019 , he built his influence entirely within the Malaysian ecosystem, working closely with the Ministry of Finance and Royal Malaysian Customs, advising government-linked accounts, and shaping the country’s indirect tax landscape from the inside .
His is a story of how trust, institutional knowledge, and long-game relationship-building create a form of power that no title alone can manufacture.
Together, they will explore what it means to own your space, whether that space spans continents or is rooted firmly in one country, and why the strongest leaders know exactly which game they are playing.
