e. Lectures, workshops, peer support sessions and coffee chats are carried out weekly at the Patients Resource Centre for all to attend and learn more about maintaining a healthy life. We have been reaching out by way of corporate / public lectures and seminars nationwide to increase awareness of breast health and care in three main local languages in Malaysia. We have also conducted multiple breast care workshops for survivors since 2009 to date. Most importantly, we had organized three major Breast Cancer Teaching Conferences in 2012, 2015 and 2018. Pink Ribbon Wellness (L) Foundation has spearheaded the formation of Pink Ribbon Alliances with 16 Breast Cancer Support Group nationwide, reaching out to the women community on breast cancer prevention programmes and breast cancer survivors’ workshops. Our logo ‘Pink Ribbon with a Heart’ symbolizes the fight against breast cancer from the caring heart of Survivors and Volunteers.

Dietary fiber is broadly divided into two main types: soluble fiber and insoluble (non-soluble) fiber. Both are important for health, but they work differently in your body.

🟢 Soluble Fiber

Definition:
Fiber that dissolves in water to form a gel-like substance.

What it does:

* Slows digestion
* Helps control blood sugar levels
* Lowers cholesterol
* Keeps you feeling full longer

Common sources:

* Oats and oat bran
* Apples, oranges, berries
* Beans and lentils
* Barley
* Psyllium (often used in fiber supplements)

🔵 Insoluble (Non-soluble) Fiber

Definition:
Fiber that does NOT dissolve in water and stays mostly intact as it moves through the digestive system.

What it does:

* Adds bulk to stool
* Helps prevent constipation
* Speeds up movement of food through the gut

Common sources:

* Whole wheat and whole grains
* Nuts and seeds
* Vegetables like carrots, cauliflower, green beans
* Wheat bran

🧠 Simple way to remember

* Soluble = “softens & slows”
* Insoluble = “bulks & moves”

✔️ Best approach

You need both types for good health. A balanced diet with fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and legumes naturally provides both.
