The 11th International Lion Dance Championship 2024 【MGM Cup🏆】has finally come to an end.
In this competition we participated in 2 categories, the first being the Freestyle Lion Dance Championship with the final score of 9.22 without any deduction that led us to 🏆🥉2nd Runner Up. As for the 2nd category, which is Women’s Traditional Lion Dance Championship, we scored 8.91 without any deduction as well that placed us 5th.
Firstly we would like to thank Dragon & Lion Dance Federation of Malaysia for giving us this opportunity to participate in this competition. Without your trust in us, we would not have the chance to take part in this competition.
Finally our fans from around the world, thank you for supporting us through the live videos.
We hope that with this results, we have made our country🇲🇾 proud.
第 11 届獅王國際爭霸赛 2024【美高梅盃🏆】终于落下帷幕。
这次賽事本會参加了两个項目，第一个南獅高桩自选套路，最终得分 9.22，零失误，让我们获得了🏆🥉季軍。第二个项目是女子组传统南獅自选套路，以得分 8.91，零失误，排名第五。
本会代表马来西亚全国龙狮总会参加此次赛事。感谢对我们的信任。

Our Story

Khuan Loke Dragon & Lion Dance started since 1980s, started from a village in Sungai Way , Petaling Jaya, Selangor. From a village lion dance troupe transformed into professional lion dance group. It has been a folk dance, yearly for chinese new year in Sungai Way village.We have been doing Futsan lion dance all this while until in 1990 we have our first Hok San master (Master Kok Koon Sang ) to coach us and given us the opportunity to performed in Singapore. In 1996, with permission of master Kok, we have Master Siow Ho Phiew to coach us of High Pole Lion Dance.

The troupe lead by our team leader Mr Albert Fong Kong Yip to pursue a big dream for lion dance in the village, by participating in 1997 National Lion Dance Championship and manage get 6th placing. It took 4 years of hardwork to reached the 1999 National Lion Dance Championship finals and won 2nd Runner-up that gives us a chance to represent Malaysia in year 2000 Genting World Lion Dance Championship.

Year 2000 is a sweet memories, we managed to win 1st Runner-up in Thailand Princess Cup Lion Dance Championship and also 1st-Runner-up in Genting World Lion Dance Championship.

Year 2001 National Lion Dance Championship, we managed to win 1st Runner-up and gives us the second opportunity to represent Malaysia. 2002 Genting World Lion Dance Championship, we manage to get 4th placing due to mistakes on the final.
