This impactful outreach saw 200 PPR flat residents registered, including underserved families and migrant communities, benefiting from free health screening and medical consultations.

A key highlight of the programme was the strong participation in women’s healthcare, with 65 women undergoing breast health and pelvic screening, including HPV-related preventive checks and consultations—an important step towards early detection and better health awareness.

The free medical services included:

While parents attended their health check-ups, the event also created a warm and family-friendly atmosphere through a children’s art competition, keeping the young ones creatively engaged while waiting. Excitement filled the day with lucky draw prizes, including bicycles and children’s gifts.

The event concluded on a celebratory note with the closing address by District Rotaract Representative Kabilan, who officiated the prize presentation for the children’s art competition and presented certificates of appreciation to our valued sponsors, healthcare partners, and collaborating organisations in recognition of their generous support.

🌈🏫 Official Handover of Multisensory Therapy Classroom at SJKC Tun Tan Siew Sin, Putra Heights 🏫🌈

A meaningful milestone was achieved on 27 April 2026 with the official handover of the Multisensory Therapy Classroom at SJKC Tun Tan Siew Sin, Putra Heights, a special needs learning space proudly funded through the MDRT Foundation Global Grant 2026 and executed by the Rotary Club of Bandar Utama (RCBU).

This specially designed classroom was created to support the school’s newly established PPKI (Special Education Integration Programme), which commenced in January 2026 with 7 students, with expected growth as more children are enrolled.

The upgraded therapy classroom includes:
✨ Special multisensory therapy equipment
✨ Safety gym flooring for movement and therapy activities
✨ 1 air-conditioning unit for a comfortable learning environment
✨ A structured sensory learning environment to support early intervention and developmental growth

A unique and heartwarming coincidence marked the day, as the school’s new Headmaster, Mr Chua, officially reported for duty on the very same day as the handover ceremony. Even more fitting, Mr Chua was formerly from SJKC Kung Man, a school that also benefited from a Rotary-sponsored multisensory therapy classroom by Rotary Club of Cheras. His prior experience will be invaluable in guiding the school’s PPKI development and supporting the special education team.

As part of the next phase, the school’s incoming PPKI teachers will be encouraged to attend DAGA Multisensory Therapy Training, equipping them with practical knowledge on the effective use of the sensory tools and intervention methods for children with autism and special learning needs.

The handover ceremony was attended by:
🌟 Mr Chua – Headmaster
🌟 Mdm Low – Former Headmistress
🌟 Mr Lim – PIBG President
🌟 Mdm Kong – Assistant Head
🌟 PPKI Teachers

Representing RCBU were:
💙 PAG Judy Chong
💙 Vice President KG Tan
💙 PAG Lily Lee
💙 Rotarian Pooi Yee
💙 PP Allison Fong
💙 Honorary Member Raymond Chee

The Headmaster expressed his sincere appreciation to RCBU for this meaningful contribution and continued support in strengthening inclusive education for children with special needs.

This project reflects Rotary’s enduring commitment to early intervention, inclusive education, teacher empowerment, and giving every child the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.

Changing spaces. Changing learning. Changing lives. 💙

The conference welcomed over 600 delegates from around the world, including participants from the USA, Canada, Europe, Australia, India, Bangladesh, Africa, and across Asia, creating a vibrant platform for global exchange, innovation, and collaboration in early childhood education.

Over four enriching days, delegates experienced:
📚 Inspiring plenary and breakout sessions
🏫 On-site learning visits to exemplary early childhood centres including Dignity for Children Foundation and Polaris Kindergarten
🌿 Practical demonstrations on inclusive outdoor education, sensory play, and experiential learning approaches for children below 6 years old
🤝 Meaningful networking, knowledge exchange, and cross-border collaboration

The conference provided invaluable exposure to innovative teaching methodologies, inclusive education models, and practical play-based interventions that can be adapted to support children with diverse learning needs.

This meaningful participation was made possible through the generous support of the YKKRM Women Empowerment Fund Grant applied by the Rotary Club of Bandar Utama.

This initiative reflects RC Bandar Utama ‘s ongoing commitment to women empowerment, leadership development, trainer upskilling, and international exposure, equipping our DAGA trainers with fresh perspectives and global best practices to better serve children with autism and special needs in our communities in an inclusive environment.
