REHDA Malaysia congratulates Datuk Seri FD Iskandar for receiving the World Distinguished Property Developer Lifetime Achievement Award 2026 by the World Business Chamber, during the World Business Forum & Awards ceremony held on 22 September 2026 in London. It is a recognition of Datuk Seri FD's decades of tireless contributions and dedicated leadership within REHDA, his company Glomac Bhd, and within the property industry as a whole.

Today, REHDA Malaysia organised the Media Briefing for the REHDA Property Industry Survey 1H 2026 and Market Outlook for 2H 2026 and 1H 2027 for members of the press at Wisma REHDA. Findings of the survey was presented by the President, Datuk Zaini Yusoff, who gave insights on the performance of the housing sector in the first half of the year, outlook for the subsequent 12 months, and other industry insights including green building, IBS, and construction costs.

Held bi-anually, the Property Industry Survey is conducted by REHDA Institute amongst REHDA members all over Peninsular Malaysia. We hope to see more members' participation in the next installment.

REHDA Malaysia's Secretary-General Datuk Tan Hon Lim attended the Launching Ceremony of Malaysia BIM Day 2026: Putrajaya Digital Built, earlier today. The ceremony was officiated by YB Dato' Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi, the Minister of Works, which was also graced by YB Pn Hannah Yeoh, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories).

The event was organised by CIDB Malaysia through CIDB Digital Sdn Bhd, in collaboration with Perbadanan Putrajaya and supported by the Ministry of Works. Themed 'BIM Beyond Design', the initiative brings together industry stakeholders to exchange knowledge, showcase innovation and strengthen collaboration in accelerating the digital transformation of Malaysia’s construction industry.

🤝 Strengthening Strategic Partnerships for a More Sustainable Future

On 10 September 2026, the Real Estate and Housing Developers’ Association (REHDA) Malaysia proudly signed two Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) in conjunction with International Sustainable Week (ISW) 2026, held at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), Kuala Lumpur.

The two MoU signings mark another important step in strengthening collaboration across the industry and advancing Malaysia’s sustainability agenda:

🌱 REHDA Malaysia × Malaysian Green Technology and Climate Change Corporation (MGTC)
A strategic collaboration to promote green technology, sustainable development and climate action within the property and housing industry.

REHDA Malaysia, represented by Mr Wie Jay Sern, took part in a meeting on Good Industry Practices (GIP) for Ceramic Tiling, organised by CIDB Malaysia on 4 September 2026. Chaired by the General Manager of the Board's Technology Development Department, En Mohammad Faizal Abdul Hamid, the session was also attended by other industry stakeholders. The meeting discussed various technical and practical matters relating to the GIP, and the appropriate assessment method to ensure practical application.

REHDA will continue its engagement with CIDB and industry stakeholders to ensure that the GIP remain clear and continue to align with current industry practices.

The President of REHDA Malaysia, Datuk Zaini Yusoff, participated in the Majlis Libat Urus Inisiatif Belanjawan 2027 bersama Pemegang Taruh organised by the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT) on 24 August 2026. It was chaired by the Minister, YB Tuan Nga Kor Ming.

During the session, REHDA presented several proposals for Budget 2027 aimed at supporting homeownership, improving housing affordability and strengthening the property industry, including a special Home Ownership Campaign (HOC) 2027 for completed unsold residential properties; enhanced stamp duty relief and targeted homeownership assistance; and more flexible housing end-financing and Government-backed financing mechanisms; amongst others. The proposals complement the National Housing Policy (DRN) 2026–2035 while addressing current challenges faced by homebuyers and the housing development industry.

REHDA Malaysia appreciates the opportunity to contribute to the Budget 2027 consultation and will continue to engage the Government towards a more affordable, sustainable and resilient housing ecosystem.
