IWFCI Malaysia co-organised a talk for Malaysian and Indonesian students together with Politeknik Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah. The online session was attended by as many as 400 students and lecturers from both countries.
3 of our members were featured on the panel of speakers (listed in order of appearance)
a) Ms Gina Phan, our VP of Operations, who spoke on Personal Leadership
b) Ms Sumitha P. N. Kannan who spoke on Quality Mindset
c) Puan Wan Intan, our Director of Membership, who spoke on Financial Literacy.
They were joined by Mr. Fuad Arif Rahman (Politeknik Negeri Batam, Indonesia) who spoke on developing Personal Value.
The session was opened by our President, Datin Samantha Chee, who set the tone on how important these mindset and skill are for the students. Partnerships among businesses, corporates and higher education is crucial in building talents and industries.
This session is a natural progression from our initial initiative in 2024 in Ready4AI&Security Malaysia in collaboration with Microsoft Philanthropy ASEAN in which we trained 200 TVET educators and 5,000 TVET students in cybersecurity and Generative AI.
We are proud that IWFCI Malaysia is able to give back to the society by supporting the next generation.
We'd like to thank Ms Salwana Ali, our Immediate Past President who is also on Industry Advisory Committee (IAC) for the Department of Commerce, Politeknik Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah who was key to bridging the two organisations.
And of course, a big shout out to the team at Politeknik Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah for the organisation and hosting the event. A special thanks to Dr. Yong Yong (Shareen), Lee. PhD, CPC, ACC. for hosting and moderating the session.
