🌟 UNITED WE STAND 🤝

What a wonderful evening at Friendship Toastmasters Club on 15 September! ✨

We were delighted to welcome a fantastic turnout of guests, including many friends from TARUMT KL Toastmasters Club, who generously stepped up to take on key meeting roles. Your participation brought the spirit of United We Stand to life!

The evening was filled with inspiring sharing, fresh perspectives, and meaningful reminders.

👏 Kenny – “Give Your Speech a Hand”
Kenny shared how purposeful hand gestures can strengthen our delivery and help our messages come alive. Sometimes, the right gesture can truly make a difference!

🎓 Ashley – “My First Week”
Ashley brought us into her first week of university, away from home, and shared a meaningful realisation: perhaps what she had been pursuing all along was not freedom, but independence.

🧪 Yew Rou – “If My Subjects Were People”
Add Math, Physics, Chemistry and Biology became more than just school subjects, they each took on their own personalities! A refreshing and creative way to look at our relationship with the things we learn.

📱 Infantino – “Absent in Presence”
A timely reminder that while we may be physically present with our loved ones, our minds can be somewhere else, distracted by our phones, screens and everything around us. A beautiful reminder to be present with the people who matter.

🧭 Jack Chuah – “Second Place”
Leadership is not always about being in the first seat. Jack shared the value of learning to lead from the co-pilot or second place, reminding us that leadership can also mean supporting, influencing and preparing others to move forward.

We are proud to celebrate THREE CHAMPIONS from our club, all bringing home top honours on the same day!

Claire demonstrated that great humour is more than making people laugh, it’s about connecting through stories and leaving a lasting impression.

With only a few seconds to think, Lay Theng showed composure, spontaneity, and presence to emerge as the champion.

🏆 Champion – MicFront Public Speaking Impromptu Speech Contest
Jack took on the challenge of impromptu speaking and emerged as the Champion, a wonderful result of his dedication and efforts in his public speaking journey.

🎉 LAUGHTER, WIT, AND WISDOM: FTMC Humorous Speech & Table Topics Contests! 🎉

What a night it was! A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for Friendship Toastmasters Club's Humorous Speech Contest and Table Topics Contest last night, 1 September.

With 7 contestants competing in each category, the room was filled with laughter, wit, and wisdom from start to finish. Every contestant brought their own flavour of humour and quick thinking to the stage, and it was inspiring to see so much courage and creativity on display.

Today, we celebrate the spirit of freedom, unity, and the beautiful diversity that make Malaysia truly special.

🦋 THE BUTTERFLY EFFECT

Sometimes, the biggest changes begin with the smallest steps. One decision to speak up.

That was the spirit of our Friendship Toastmasters Club meeting on 18 August, themed “The Butterfly Effect.”

🎤 Jack Chuah brought us through his journey of developing his communication skills, reminding us that every opportunity to speak is another opportunity to grow.

📋 Samuel shared about developing a communications plan, highlighting how purposeful communication can help turn ideas into meaningful action.

❤️ Lay Theng brought us into a deeply meaningful topic “From DNR (Do Not Resuscitate) to ACP (Advance Care Planning)”, raising awareness about the importance of having conversations and making informed decisions about our future care.

Beyond the speeches, we also had active participation, wonderful guests, and a great line-up of evaluators who contributed thoughtful feedback and encouragement throughout the evening.

Growth doesn't always happen in giant leaps. Sometimes, it begins with something as small as: “Yes, I'll give it a try.”

And that little YES might just create a ripple that reaches much further than we ever imagined.

That's the Butterfly Effect. ✨
