The food manufacturing sector needs more than a dependable supply of ingredients. It requires technical expertise, locally relevant solutions and partners committed to long-term growth.

During her keynote at the seminar “Food Safety and Innovation: Palm Oil – Solution for Central Asia”, held as part of Malaysia Market Connect in Tashkent, Malaysian Palm Oil Council (MPOC) Chief Executive Officer Ms Belvinder Sron highlighted Uzbekistan’s growing importance as a hub for the oils, fats and food manufacturing sectors in Central Asia.

She outlined how cooperation between Malaysia and Uzbekistan is progressing from commitment to practical action. This includes joint research on specialised palm-based fat formulations for traditional Uzbek pilaf, technical knowledge-sharing, business networking and stronger connections between Malaysian suppliers and regional manufacturers.

The seminar brought together four Malaysian companies and regional industry stakeholders to explore the application of Malaysian palm oil in frying, bakery, confectionery, margarine, specialty fats and other food applications.

For Uzbekistan’s food industry, Malaysian palm oil offers more than a reliable supply. It provides formulation expertise, consistent performance and industry partnerships that can respond to evolving manufacturing needs.

Watch the keynote highlights to learn how Malaysia and Uzbekistan are building practical pathways for food innovation and shared industry growth.

Good frying depends on how well the oil is.

Simple habits can make a difference. Choose a stable cooking oil, keep the frying temperature within the right range, and avoid mixing fresh oil with heavily used oil.

Oil quality also changes with repeated use. If the oil becomes dark, foamy, sticky, or develops an unpleasant smell, it should no longer be used.

Malaysian Palm Oil offers good stability for frying, helping support consistent texture, taste, and food quality when used properly.

Better cooking oil care leads to better frying results.

Behind Malaysia’s agricommodity sector are the smallholders and communities whose livelihoods, knowledge, and commitment keep it moving forward.

On 25 July, the Malaysian Palm Oil Council (MPOC) supported the Ministry of Plantation and Commodities (Kementerian Perladangan dan Komoditi - KPK) at the Salam Agrikomoditi MADANI Programme at Kuala Pilah, Negeri Sembilan.

The programme was officiated by YAB Dato’ Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia, and attended by YB Datuk Seri Dr Noraini Ahmad, Minister of Plantation and Commodities.

At the MPOC booth, smallholders and members of the local community explored the role of Malaysian Palm Oil in supporting rural livelihoods, responsible production, and economic development. Educational materials and interactive activities helped make the industry’s wider contribution clearer and more accessible.

Informed communities are essential to meaningful and inclusive progress. MPOC remains committed to bringing credible information closer to the people who sustain Malaysia’s palm oil industry.

Frying quality starts with the right oil.

Different cooking oils respond differently to heat. Oils that are high in polyunsaturated fats can break down more quickly during high-temperature frying, which may affect the quality, taste, and texture of food.

Malaysian Palm Oil has a balanced fatty acid composition that gives it good heat stability. This helps it perform consistently during frying and supports better results in the kitchen.

When the oil stays stable, food quality is easier to maintain.

Choose the oil that is simply better for frying.
