It’s been nearly five years since our last ROP update, and the landscape has shifted. Today, we’re launching the 6th Edition of the M-HMUN Procedure—bringing Malaysia's very own version of HMUN into alignment with the community! 🙌

One of our goals is to create a Malaysian MUN ecosystem that is consistent and accessible to chairs and delegates alike. We hope this new edition of HMUN procedures accomplishes that and helps MUN to continue positively impacting youth in diplomacy and policymaking. 🌐

Diplomacy is often imagined as something that happens in formal rooms between governments.

But in Malaysia, women have long practiced diplomacy in many forms: organising communities, advocating for policy change, building coalitions, and creating spaces for dialogue.

When Malaysia ratified the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women in 1995, helped turn global commitments into local conversations about equality, dignity, and justice.

Their work reminds us that diplomacy is not only practiced by diplomats.

It is practiced by anyone willing to listen, negotiate, and speak up for change.

Sometimes, all it takes is a conversation brave enough to begin.

We’re exploring the idea of hosting a diplomacy workshop centred on women’s rights and advocacy. Would you be interested in joining the conversation?

Ever wondered what it’s like to debate in the heart of our nation? 🏛️🇲🇾

The Dewan Rakyat council is a unique pillar of the Malaysian MUN circuit. Unlike standard committees, this council emulates the Malaysian Parliament, allowing delegates to simulate Members of Parliament representing their own constituencies. 👔✨

What makes it different?
🗣️ Bilingualism: Unlike most councils, both Malay and English are accepted—making it one of our most inclusive and accessible platforms.
📍 Local Focus: Debate issues that directly affect our home and our future.

Join our workshop to master the DR ROP and learn the basic practices that make this council legendary.

Hey MUN fam! 👋

The HMUN ROP 6th Edition is officially in the works, and we want you to be part of the process. Whether you’re a delegate, a chair, or an organiser, your experiences and feedback matter. Creating these rules isn’t a one-person job — it should reflect the voices of the people who are always behind the scenes making MUN happen.

By bringing everyone to the table, we’re working towards a more inclusive, fair, and representative MUN ecosystem in Malaysia. Your input helps shape how future conferences run, how debates flow, and how delegates experience MUN overall.

It’s been almost 5 years since our last ROP update (time really flies 😭), and let’s be real — MUN has changed a lot since then. Delegate expectations, procedural norms, and conference styles have all evolved, so it’s time for the HMUN ROP to evolve too. This refresh helps keep HMUN at a strong, relevant standard for Malaysian MUN conferences.
