🐾 这里，住着2000多只流浪狗。
20/9/2026，晏斗狮子会准备去拜访 Furrykids Shelter, Kuala Sawah。
这里目前救助了2000++只流浪狗。
2000多只是什么概念？
里面有年轻的、年老的，也有生病、残疾，甚至已经没有什么人愿意领养的狗狗。
但是来到这里，它们至少有一个可以继续活下去的地方。
Furrykids里面的狗狗都有进行结扎，结扎后的狗狗也会剪耳做记号。
我们后来才了解到，每一次芙蓉市议会接到流浪狗的投诉，其中一些捕捉工作是由Furrykids的救狗队协助进行。狗狗被捕捉以后，就会带回收容所安置。
所以这里其实面对着一个很现实的问题：
狗狗不会越来越少，只会越来越多。
一只、两只、十只还容易照顾。
可是当一个收容所里面住着2000多只狗狗，每一天需要多少狗粮、多少白米？
生病的需要医药费，年老的需要照顾，还有整个收容所每天的基本运作开销。
这些费用，主要都是依靠公众的捐助一点一点维持下去。
也因为这样，这一次我们去Furrykids，不只是想捐一些狗粮和白米。
我们也想去了解。
为什么流浪狗永远救不完？
其实，救助很重要，但是结扎教育一样重要。
如果今天我们救了10只，可是外面又出生了20只、30只，收容所永远都会越来越满。
所以我们很希望把这个观念带出去：
如果你养狗，请为自己的狗狗结扎。
不要让它随意繁殖，再把小狗送人；
不要觉得自己的狗养在家里，就跟外面的流浪狗问题没有关系。
当越来越多饲主愿意为自己的狗狗负责任，做好结扎，不让没有计划的小生命不断出生，流浪狗的问题才有机会真正从源头慢慢减少。
❤️ 活动还没开始，我们已经收到第一份善意。
一位朋友知道我们要去Furrykids后，捐了 RM300给我们购买白米。
这是我们这次活动收到的第一笔捐款。

我们也欢迎大家捐赠狗粮或白米，一起带去给这2000多只毛孩子。
也欢迎有兴趣的朋友跟我们一起去看看。
不过因为进入Shelter的路段比较崎岖，普通轿车无法进入，所以参与者需要有 4WD四轮驱动车辆。

但是至少，我们可以先去看看、去了解，也帮一点是一点。
更重要的是，希望有更多人明白：
领养是救一只狗。
结扎，是减少下一批无家可归的狗。

🐾 COMMUNITY CARE PROJECT | VISIT TO FURRYKIDS SHELTER
More than 2,000 rescued dogs call this place home.
On 20 September 2026, Lions Club of Rantau will be visiting Furrykids Shelter, Kuala Sawah.
Furrykids currently shelters more than 2,000 rescued dogs.
Among them are young dogs, senior dogs, sick and disabled dogs, and many that may never have the chance to be adopted.
But here, at least they have a place to call home and a chance to live.
The dogs at Furrykids are neutered/spayed, with ear marking used to identify those that have already undergone the procedure.
We also learned that when complaints about stray dogs are received by the Seremban City Council, the Furrykids rescue team assists with some of the catching operations. The rescued dogs are then brought back to the shelter.
And this creates a very difficult reality:
The number of dogs at the shelter does not get smaller. It keeps growing.
Imagine feeding and caring for more than 2,000 dogs every single day.
There is food to provide, medical treatment for sick dogs, extra care for the elderly and disabled, and the daily cost of keeping such a large shelter running.
Much of this depends on public donations.
That is why our visit is not only about bringing dog food and rice.
We also hope to raise awareness about something equally important:
Why does the stray dog problem never seem to end?
Rescue is important, but spaying and neutering education is just as important.
If we rescue 10 dogs today while another 20 or 30 puppies are born outside, shelters will never stop filling up.
If you have a dog, please be a responsible owner and have your dog spayed or neutered.
When more owners take responsibility and prevent unplanned breeding, we can begin reducing the stray dog population from its source.
❤️ And before our visit has even taken place, we have already received our first act of kindness.
A friend who heard about this project donated RM300 for us to purchase rice for the shelter.
This is the first donation received for this project.

Please note that part of the road leading into the shelter is rough and not suitable for normal cars, so participants will need a 4WD vehicle.

Adoption saves one dog.
Spaying and neutering help prevent the next generation from becoming homeless.
