𝗠𝗣𝗠𝗔’𝘀 𝟱𝟵𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴

MPMA successfully held its 59th Annual General Meeting on 21 May 2026.

This year’s Annual Report theme, “Resilience: Forging a Sustainable Path”, reflects the industry’s commitment towards sustainability, innovation, and resilience amidst industry challenges.

As this year’s AGM also marked an election year, we extend our heartiest congratulations to the 17 elected members of the 30th Term (2026–2028) Central Committee. We look forward to their leadership and contributions in driving the industry forward.

🤝 MPMA hosted a plastics industry roundtable on Plastics Recycling & EPR on 20 May 2026, bringing together representatives from MPMA, MPRA, MAREA, ACCCIM, FMM and Nestlé. Discussions focused on building a resilient circular supply chain, addressing structural barriers and aligning the industry for Malaysia's EPR roadmap ahead of the 2030 mandatory deadline. Further discussions are planned as the industry works towards a submission to the Ministry of Finance. 🇲🇾♻️

On Monday, 11 May 2026, representatives from the Malaysian Plastics Manufacturers Association (MPMA), including members of its Recycling and Sustainability Committee, attended a networking lunch hosted by the Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM).

The session was graced by YB Liew Chin Tong, Deputy Minister of Finance, and YB Sim Tze Tzin, Deputy Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry, who engaged in an in-depth dialogue with representatives from the Malaysia Recycling Alliance (MAREA), MPMA, and other industry stakeholders. Key topics included enhancing local recycling capabilities to produce high-grade recyclates, with the aim of reducing dependency on imported crude oil and naphtha for the production of plastic raw materials. Participants also discussed ways to further strengthen voluntary EPR initiatives through continued industry collaboration and engagement.

Among the other attendees were Nestlé Malaysia's CEO, Mr Juan Aranols, representative from MAREA; ACCCIM representatives including Datuk Yap Heng Or, Vice-President; Dato’ Jeffery Tan, Secretary-General; Mr Kenny Lim Seng Lee, National Council Member; and Mr Lee Heng Guie, Executive Director of ACCCIM SERC.

Members visit to TALKE 7 May 2026

MPMA collaborated with TALKE Malaysia for an insightful site visit on 7 May 2026. The session covered chemical warehouse operations, HSSEQ practices, hazardous chemical handling, warehouse safety, and Operation Clean Sweep (OCS) initiatives. TALKE's new Managing Director - Mr Alexander Donau, was on hand to meet the members during the visit.

MPMA had organised a visit to TALKE on 7 May 2026. TALKE is located at WESTPORT and as part of the visit, WESTPORT had provided a briefing for Members at the WESTPORT Viewing Galley before the Members visited TALKE.
