Tragedies test not only our hearts, but also our humanity.
Today, R.I.S.E. shares this statement in the hope that Malaysia will choose understanding over stereotypes, prevention over silence, and compassion over assumptions.
Because building a more inclusive society means ensuring that no one is left behind, and no one goes unheard.

Pertubuhan Rentak, Irama, Seni dan Ekspresi (R.I.S.E.) extends our deepest condolences to the victim, the victim's family, and everyone affected by the recent school tragedy.
As investigations continue, we urge the public to allow the authorities to establish the facts while avoiding speculation or conclusions that may unfairly stigmatise any individual or community.
Recent reports that the suspect may be autistic have sparked widespread discussion. Regardless of the outcome of the investigation, no single incident should define an entire community. Millions of autistic and other neurodivergent individuals live peacefully, pursue their education and careers, and contribute positively to society every day.
This tragedy also reminds us that bullying, emotional distress and mental health deserve far greater attention. Whether a young person is neurodivergent or neurotypical, prolonged bullying, social isolation and untreated emotional struggles can have profound consequences. These issues require early intervention, understanding and appropriate support.
At R.I.S.E., we believe inclusion is not only about creating opportunities to thrive. It is also about ensuring no one suffers in silence.
Building a safer and more inclusive Malaysia requires greater collaboration among families, schools, mental health professionals, employers, community organisations and public authorities to ensure that every individual receives the support they need.
This statement is not intended to excuse wrongdoing or diminish accountability. Justice must take its course. At the same time, we hope this difficult moment encourages a broader conversation about prevention, inclusion, mental wellbeing and compassion.
Together, let us reject stereotypes, choose understanding over assumptions, and build a society where every individual is seen first as a person.
Because one tragedy should never define an entire community.
Leave No One Behind. Leave No One Unheard.
