Building Future STEM Talents & Innovators

Students from SMK Lembah Subang are bringing STEM to life by designing and building innovative projects using the micro:bit under the STEM Intervention Programme, supported by the Urus Setia Inovasi, Pejabat Setiausaha Kerajaan Negeri Selangor.

Thirty students are participating in this 20-week experiential learning programme, where they have the opportunity to develop STEM knowledge and skills through hands-on activities, coding, and real-world problem-solving.

This week marked Session 3, and the students enthusiastically explored their latest challenge - Freefall Simulator Project. By designing, building, and programming their prototypes with Micro:bit, they gained a deeper understanding of scientific concepts such as motion, aerodynamics, gravity, and engineering design, while making meaningful connections to what they learn in the classroom.

We were also honoured to welcome Prof. Dr. Sharifuddin Md Zain, Director of Makerspace @ Universiti Malaya, who delivered an inspiring motivational session. He commended the students for their enthusiasm, curiosity, and ability to connect their project work with their school science lessons.

We look forward to seeing these young innovators showcase their projects at the upcoming STEM Fest 2026.
