🤖 What happens when Artificial Intelligence moves from concept into everyday property and facility management?

That was the focus of REHDA Selangor Insights Mini Series #4: Artificial Intelligence in Smart Property & Facility Management, held on 13 August 2026 at Wisma REHDA.

Through presentations by PlanRadar, Agmo Strata and CodexGate, participants explored how AI, PropTech and digital solutions can support smarter property and facility management from issue reporting, maintenance coordination and operational visibility to centralised data, tenancy administration, reporting and compliance. PlanRadar also demonstrated AI-enabled capabilities such as voice-based ticket creation, document insights, ticket search and project summaries. CodexGate highlighted how repetitive property-management processes can be supported by AI while key decisions remain under human oversight.

Practical demonstrations, a sharing session, panel discussion and Q&A further brought these applications into a real-world context.

The key takeaway? Smarter property management is not simply about automating more; it is about giving people better information, stronger visibility and better tools to make decisions.

🏠 Residential Tenancy Bill Being Finalised

KPKT is finalising the proposed Residential Tenancy Bill to clarify the rights and responsibilities of tenants and landlords, while providing a quicker, simpler and more affordable way to resolve disputes.

The Government has also stated that it does not intend to impose nationwide rent controls, as rental rates are influenced by economic factors and local market conditions.

⚡ Advancing Coordinated Electricity Planning for Selangor’s Developments

REHDA Selangor hosted the TNB–REHDA Selangor Planning Task Force Meeting No. 3/2025–2026 on 4 August 2026 at Wisma REHDA, continuing the structured engagement between Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) and the property development industry.

As a follow-up to the previous meeting held on 28 April 2026, discussions focused on key planning and implementation matters affecting development projects across Selangor, including:
🔹 The implementation timeline and coordination of Caj Sambungan Pengguna (CSP) for township, new township and mixed-development projects
🔹 Coordination relating to TNB’s participation in the REHDA Selangor Housing Convention 2026
🔹 Current challenges and proposed improvements to streamline electricity infrastructure planning and supply coordination for new developments

Through this task force, TNB and REHDA Selangor continue to address operational issues, improve planning clarity and strengthen coordination between the utility provider and the development industry.

🏘️ Beyond Housing Supply: Building the Right Homes for Malaysians

Malaysia’s housing challenge is not defined by supply alone. The greater priority is ensuring that the right homes are delivered in the right locations, at prices households can realistically afford throughout the full period of ownership.

This important perspective was advanced by REHDA Institute during the inaugural Senior Leadership Circle Roundtable under the Malaysia–Cambridge Urban Platform, an initiative led by the Ministry of Housing and Local Government, with REHDA Institute as a strategic collaboration partner.

Bringing together government, academia and industry, the roundtable examined housing affordability, needs-driven policy interventions and the use of data and smart-city tools to support more sustainable, liveable and responsive urban planning.

The session also marked the official launch of REHDA Institute’s latest research report, Housing For All: Co-Creating a Needs-Driven Framework—reinforcing the importance of translating rigorous research into practical, implementable solutions.

🌿 Strengthening Collaboration for Greener Development in Kuala Selangor

REHDA Selangor, through its Shah Alam–Kuala Selangor Zone Committee, participated in the Sesi Libat Urus ke Arah Bangunan Hijau di Daerah Kuala Selangor, organised by Majlis Perbandaran Kuala Selangor (MPKS).

The engagement brought together local authorities, government agencies, technical experts and industry stakeholders to exchange practical perspectives on green building implementation and sustainable development.

REHDA Selangor’s participation reflects our commitment to ensuring that the development industry contributes meaningfully to sustainability discussions—supporting solutions that are environmentally responsible, technically practical and responsive to local development needs.

🏙️ Representing the Property Development Industry in Land and Planning Dialogue

REHDA Selangor contributed to the Forum Profesional Tadbir Urus Tanah dan Perancangan Bandar on 20 July 2026 at Concorde Hotel, Shah Alam, with REHDA listed among the collaborating organisations.

Organised by MIP Training Centre Sdn Bhd, the forum brought together government authorities, planners, legal professionals and industry representatives to examine the harmonisation of the National Land Code [Act 828] and the Town and Country Planning Act 1976 [Act 172] throughout the land development process.

Ms Shanaz Muztaza, Deputy Chairperson of REHDA Selangor and National Council Member of REHDA Malaysia, joined the professional dialogue as a panellist, contributing the property development industry’s perspective on coordination between land administration, planning requirements and the overall development process.

At the exhibition booth shared with GreenRE, REHDA Selangor provided information on the Branch’s role, activities and membership, while GreenRE promoted International Sustainability Week 2026. Ms Shanaz also received a token of appreciation on behalf of REHDA Selangor in recognition of the Branch’s support and cooperation.

That was the defining message from REHDA Selangor Insights Mini Series #3: Artificial Intelligence in Developer Operations & Administrative Efficiency, held on 16 July 2026 at Wisma REHDA.

Through practical presentations, live demonstrations and an interactive Q&A, participants explored how developers can move beyond fragmented information and manual processes towards more connected, efficient and AI-ready operations.

Tina Leon, Founder of ProSales Malaysia, shared how a strong data foundation, change management and workforce readiness are essential for meaningful digital transformation. Leong Yew Fei, Business Development Manager of Prime Commerce Asia, demonstrated how integrated digital tools can consolidate information, automate workflows and improve visibility across an organisation.

The session reinforced an important principle: successful AI adoption is not about adding more technology. It is about connecting the right data, people and processes to solve real operational challenges.
