WORLD ALZHEIMER’S MONTH 2026 IS HERE!

We proudly launched World Alzheimer’s Month 2026 at Megah Rise Mall, marking an important step towards building a more dementia-inclusive Malaysia.

This year, we come together under the theme:

The Earlier You Know, The More You Can Do: A Dementia Diagnosis Matters

The launch also marked a meaningful milestone, the unveiling of The Forget-Me-Not Project, with Megah Rise Mall becoming Malaysia’s first Dementia-Friendly Mall.

From memory screening and dementia awareness activities to caregiver support, community engagement and dementia-friendly initiatives, today’s event brought together organisations, partners, caregivers, persons living with dementia and the wider community.

An early, accurate diagnosis is the crucial first step towards accessing treatment, care and support, enabling those living with a diagnosis to live independently for as long as possible.

But diagnosis must be the beginning of support, not the end. Did you know that up to 85% of people living with dementia may not be accessing post-diagnostic care? Prevailing stigma that surrounds dementia must not be a barrier for those seeking a diagnosis!

We call for health and care systems to be ready to recognise dementia as a major health challenge, and support people up to the point of diagnosis and beyond.
