NAPEI was pleased to be represented at the MasterSoft ELEVATE: Higher Education Leadership Summit, held on 20 August 2026 at Hilton Kuala Lumpur.

NAPEI President Datuk Lau Wai Cheng participated as a panelist in the discussion on “Can Traditional Degrees Survive the Rise of ODL, AI, and Micro-Credentials?”, while NAPEI Vice President Dr. HC Aslam Khan participated as a speaker at the summit.

The event brought together higher education leaders to exchange perspectives on AI, ODL, micro-credentials and the evolving future of higher education.

On 14 August 2026, representatives from the National Association of Private Educational Institutions (NAPEI) paid a courtesy visit to Puan Sarina Binti Salim, Pengarah, Bahagian Pendidikan Swasta, Ministry of Education Malaysia.

NAPEI extends its sincere appreciation to Puan Sarina and the Bahagian Pendidikan Swasta team for the warm welcome and the opportunity to exchange views on matters relating to private education in Malaysia.

NAPEI at Study in Malaysia – Malaysia Education Tourism Fair 2026, Thailand 🇲🇾🇹🇭

NAPEI is pleased to have participated in the Study in Malaysia – Malaysia Education Tourism Fair 2026 in Thailand, supporting efforts to promote Malaysia as a quality education destination.

The programme took place across three key cities — Chiang Mai, Bangkok and Hat Yai — providing valuable opportunities to engage with prospective students, parents and education partners, while showcasing the diverse educational opportunities available in Malaysia.

Our sincere appreciation to Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS), Tourism Malaysia, and all parties involved for their support and efforts in making this initiative a success.

NAPEI remains committed to supporting our member institutions and contributing to the promotion of Malaysian education internationally.

NAPEI paid a courtesy visit to Mr. Novie Tajuddin, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS) to strengthen collaboration and discuss matters of mutual interest in advancing Malaysia's international education sector.

The meeting provided a valuable opportunity to exchange ideas, foster closer cooperation, and explore initiatives to further enhance Malaysia's position as a preferred global education destination.

During the programme held at Kompleks Nasyrul Quran, Putrajaya, NAPEI had the opportunity to share insights on "Unlocking Global Futures: Higher Education Opportunities and Academic Synergies in Malaysia", highlighting Malaysia's strengths as a preferred international education destination and the diverse opportunities available for global learners.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the Islamic Tourism Centre (ITC) for the invitation and the opportunity to engage with the visiting delegation. A productive and meaningful meeting this morning with YBrs. Datin Rosliza, Director of the Private Education Division (Bahagian Pendidikan Swasta), Ministry of Education Malaysia.

The discussion focused on several current matters affecting the private education sector, including policy developments, operational issues, and areas for continued collaboration between the Ministry and industry stakeholders. NAPEI also took the opportunity to provide updates on recent initiatives and activities undertaken by the association.
