The ERP group had a busy week of job shadowing experiences! Safe to say, their eyes and minds were opened a little more as they got to see what their preferred jobs actually look like day to day.

As part of ERP, our trainees go through career exploration to identify jobs and work environments that match their interests, strengths and needs. Job shadowing gives them the chance to step into those environments and see how their expectations match up with reality.

The more you know, the better you can decide. Our goal is to give our trainees the opportunity to explore, ask questions and experience different possibilities so they can make more informed decisions about their future.

So… what actually happens in ERP?

Learning what to do is essential, but the doing is just as important.

That’s why we practise all the little things in ERP! Asking for help, responding to feedback, knowing what to do when you’re unsure, managing tasks, and learning how to communicate with the people around you.

Sometimes, you just need a safe space to try, make mistakes and try again. 💪🏼

Interviews can feel daunting especially when you’ve never had one before.

That’s why we practice.

Our mock interviews give trainees a chance to experience the real thing, make mistakes, ask questions, get feedback and try again… all before the real interview happens.

We believe in having opportunities to learn, build confidence and making sure your first interview isn’t your first practice.

Job shadowing gives our trainees a chance to spend time in a real workplace, observe a professional, experience what a typical workday looks like, and get a better feel for the job.

It’s a simple but valuable opportunity for them to explore and learn beyond the classroom.

We’re currently looking for businesses across cafes, retail and office-based roles.
