Global Women’s Bank: Redesigning Finance for Dignity, Peace & Women’s Leadership
As we come together for both the opening and the closing of this meaningful gathering, we do not end with finality but with renewed hope, stronger determination, and a shared vision for the future of women worldwide.
When women come together with purpose, compassion, and courage, extraordinary things can happen.
Throughout this dialogue we heard inspiring insights from remarkable global leaders.
H.E. Justice Carmen Velasquez reminded us that justice and law must always protect the dignity and rights of women.
Dr. (h.c.) Michelle Ferrari and Maria Elena Esparza shared powerful perspectives on women’s economic leadership and the importance of expanding access to opportunities and resources.
Patricia Elias reminded us that there can be no lasting peace without women’s leadership in governance and global decision-making.
H.E. Epsy Campbell emphasised the importance of women’s voices in international affairs and global policy, ensuring that the collective vision for the Global Women’s Bank is heard.
Dr. Denise Fernandes highlighted the transformative role of technology and digital platforms in advancing financial inclusion for women.
H.E. Ann Linde shared global perspectives on diplomacy, multilateral cooperation, and women’s leadership in shaping the future of global finance.
Dr. Karen Lorena Brugés Solórzano demonstrated how innovation, ecosystems, and global alliances can address major global challenges, including through the Zero Hunger Mission.
Constanza EcheverrĂa Prado reminded us that women are increasingly leading innovation and sustainability, even in industries traditionally dominated by men.
Carolyn Handschin Moser, Chair of NGO CSW Geneva and Director of the Office for United Nations Relations of the Women’s Federation for World Peace International, shared her journey and spoke about the important “No Peace Without Women” agenda.
Together these voices reaffirm a powerful truth:
When women lead, economies grow stronger.
When women have access to finance, communities prosper.
And when women are empowered, societies become more peaceful and resilient.
Today we proudly mark the launch of the Global Women’s Bank platform, a movement dedicated to redesigning finance so that women everywhere can access capital, opportunity, and leadership.
We will now begin the journey of forming the Global Women’s Bank Steering Committee, bringing together leaders and partners who will help turn this vision into real impact for women, youth, families, and communities across the world.
My deepest appreciation goes to City College of New York, especially Professor Dr. Carlos Aguasaco, for generously providing the space for us to connect, present, and share this vision. Your support has allowed us to bring together voices from around the world in a spirit of collaboration and possibility.
My heartfelt gratitude also goes to H.E. Justice Carmen Velasquez, our Global Chair, whose dedication and commitment have been extraordinary. Despite the many time zones and countless conversations through phone calls, WhatsApp messages, and emails, she has worked tirelessly with her team, interns, and family to ensure that this event was successfully organised.
To all our dear sisters who have travelled from different parts of the world to be here today, I truly cherish your presence and your support. Your commitment to women’s empowerment inspires hope for generations to come.
My profound appreciation also goes to our beloved founder, Dr. Harbeen Arora Rai, whose vision created the G100 platform, allowing women across the world to unite, collaborate, and serve humanity. Your mentorship and support continue to guide us on this journey.
To my beloved husband, Dato’ Zainal Abidin Sakom, your love and unwavering support have allowed me to grow and flourish in this mission.
To my children, who constantly give me strength, love, and encouragement may Allah always bless and protect you.
And to my incredible team Suriani, Janita, Sherhan, Reena, Audi, Ikmal, and everyone who works tirelessly behind the scenes — what would I do without all of you? Your dedication and commitment make this journey possible.
To everyone present here today thank you.
Let us move forward together with courage, compassion, and unity.
Let us ensure that the Global Women’s Bank becomes not just a vision, but a transformative force that uplifts women everywhere.
Alhamdulillah.
