Why does your salary never catch up?

Prices rise, and we are told it is supply and demand. That is only half of it. The other half is a debt system built on riba. Money made from money, money made from nothing, then charged on top.

Ten people on an island. A banker lends each of them 10,000, then wants 11,000 back. Only 100,000 exists on the whole island. Somebody has to go broke.

So companies cut costs. Salaries stay low. People delay payment. And everything ends up on instalment.

The income gap between races got smaller from 2022 to 2024.

But the richest 20% of households still take 45% of all income. The poorest 40% share 17% between them.

Every community has rich families and struggling families. When money gets tight, people can stop looking at the system and start blaming one another.

Remember “kita jaga kita”? Where did it go?

During Covid we looked after each other. Neighbours, strangers, everyone.

The Sheikh asked at Tour 2: now that we are free and busy again, what happened to that spirit?

It does not have to end with the crisis. That was us at our best. We can choose it again.
