The 7 Rights Islam Guarantees Every Person

Long before any modern declaration, Islam already secured the dignity and freedom of every individual.

Allah SWT says:
“O believers, be securers of justice, witness for God. Be equitable — that is nearer to God-fearing.”
(Surah al-Maidah, 5:8)

Islam grants every person seven fundamental rights, regardless of race, background, or wealth:

Haqqul Hayah — The Right to Life
Haqqul Karamah — The Right to Dignity
Haqqul Amal — The Right to Work
Haqqul Kasab — The Right to Earn
Haqqul Tamlik — The Right to Own
Haqqul Ta’lim — The Right to Knowledge
Haqqul Hurriyah — The Right to Freedom

These are not privileges. They are God-given, and they must be upheld under all circumstances.

Join us this Saturday as we explore Basic Human Rights in Islam with Dato’ Dr Sheikh Hussain Yee.

This programme is free and open to all. New Muslims, those exploring Islam, and born Muslims seeking to deepen their understanding are all welcome.

We look forward to seeing you, in shaa Allah.

- The best pre-Eid warmup, honestly 😄

All levels welcome. No Arabic background needed.

Where do Islamic rulings actually come from?

Allah SWT says:
“And We have revealed to you the Book as clarification for all things.”
(Surah al-Nahl, 16:89)

The Quran. The Sunnah. The scholars. But how do they connect? Understanding our Islamic references helps us practise with clarity and conviction.

Join us this Saturday as we explore Islamic References with Dato’ Dr Sheikh Hussain Yee.

You recite it every salah.
But do you know what you’re actually saying?

Tonight we break down مَا — one of the Qur’an’s most quietly powerful words.

Here is what you get when you join:

- The meaning, not just the translation
- Real examples straight from the Qur’an
- How many times it appears and why that matters
- Tafseer and commentary from Ustadh Adli that makes it click and actually stick

No prior Arabic knowledge needed. Just bring curiosity.

How do we know what Islam truly teaches?

Allah SWT says:
“And We have sent down to you the Book as clarification for all things.”
(Surah al-Nahl, 16:89)

Everything in our Deen goes back to a source. Knowing which references to trust and how to use them is foundational to practising Islam with confidence.

Join us this Saturday with Dato’ Dr Sheikh Hussain Yee.

Free and open to all. We look forward to seeing you, in shaa Allah. ☺️

مَا
One word. Yet in the Qur’an, it carries two very different jobs.

As a negative, it denies — like in مَا هَذَا بَشَراً, “this is not a human” (Yusuf 12:31).

As an exceptive, it limits and defines — like in مَا أَنتَ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ, “you are nothing but a human” (Ash-Shu’ara 26:154), where مَا sets up the denial before the exception follows.
Same word. Completely different weight depending on where it sits.

Join us tonight as we go deeper, in shaa Allah.

Did you know Sunnah and Sunat are not the same thing?

The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Whoever revives a Sunnah of mine, he will have a reward like those who act upon it.”
(Sunan al-Tirmidhi, no. 677)

Two words, two different meanings. Understanding the difference changes how we practice our Deen.

Join us this Saturday. Free and open to all. We look forward to seeing you, in shaa Allah. ☺️
