The 7 Rights Islam Guarantees Every Person
Long before any modern declaration, Islam already secured the dignity and freedom of every individual.
Allah SWT says:
“O believers, be securers of justice, witness for God. Be equitable — that is nearer to God-fearing.”
(Surah al-Maidah, 5:8)
Islam grants every person seven fundamental rights, regardless of race, background, or wealth:
Haqqul Hayah — The Right to Life
Haqqul Karamah — The Right to Dignity
Haqqul Amal — The Right to Work
Haqqul Kasab — The Right to Earn
Haqqul Tamlik — The Right to Own
Haqqul Ta’lim — The Right to Knowledge
Haqqul Hurriyah — The Right to Freedom
These are not privileges. They are God-given, and they must be upheld under all circumstances.
Join us this Saturday as we explore Basic Human Rights in Islam with Dato’ Dr Sheikh Hussain Yee.
This programme is free and open to all. New Muslims, those exploring Islam, and born Muslims seeking to deepen their understanding are all welcome.
We look forward to seeing you, in shaa Allah.
