MALAYSIA 2026 BUDGET EXPECTATIONS BY ECKL AND KSI

Malaysia’s 2026 Federal Budget is widely expected to set the tone for the nation’s economic transformation in the first full year of the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP). More than just a fiscal document, it will serve as a policy signal of how the government intends to strike a balance between immediate cost-of-living relief and the longer-term agenda of reform and sustainable growth.

In this context, the KSI Strategic Institute for Asia Pacific (KSI) and the Economic Club of Kuala Lumpur (ECKL) are pleased to share with you our Malaysia 2026 Budget Expectations. Better World, Brighter Lives.

At the ECKL-TNB Dialogue 2025, leaders gathered to explore Malaysia’s energy future.

With first-hand insights from Tan Sri Abdul Razak Abdul Majid, the Chairman of TNB, Ms Leo Pui Yong, the Chief Sustainability Officer, and Ir. Dr Mohd Fadzil Mohd Siam, the Acting TNB Chief Strategy & Ventures Officer, this session explored nuclear readiness, clean tech investments, and Malaysia’s role in the ASEAN power grid. From scaling renewables and phasing out coal, to pioneering nuclear and hydrogen, TNB laid out bold plans to power a low-carbon economy and strengthen regional grid integration.

The path forward is clear: sustainable, inclusive, and regionally connected.
