Miri Intelligent Youth Club (MIYC) (Malay: Kelab Belia Bestari Bandar Miri) is registered under the Registry of Youth (ROY). This club was founded in January 2021, by several university students and graduates from Miri. The club mission is to provide a platform for empowering youth in Miri. One of the MIYC annual projects is Miri Undergraduate Conference (MUC) (Mandarin: 美里国立大专交流会). MUC is a Manda
rin event that sharing information related to PTPTN loan, JPA scholarship, i-GPS (a Sarawak government’s flight subsidy initiative for university students), etc. The purpose of the MUC project is to assist and counsel the new undergraduate intakes after the release of UPU results. MUC is also a platform for current university students (organizers) to excel in their event planning and project management skills. Another annual project of MIYC is Miri Interschool Mandarin Debate Competition. The debate project comprises of training programmes and competition. It provides secondary school students a platform to enhance their debating and critical thinking skills. Hopefully, more projects will be conducted in the future.
