7th Fort Sea Scouts & C Fort Rovers

Our weekend was spent hosting the 138th Sea Scout Unit from Kowloon Hong Kong 🇭🇰
⚜️

There was the tour around the UNESCO Heritage City of Malacca. Then there was the Sea Navigation course by Skipper Norma Noordin and a meaningful ending of painting our new boatshed at Seafarers, Klebang who is our main sponsor. For this we would also like to thank our brothers and sisters from SEAL30 Sea Scoufs for raising funds for the procurement of the old container and its repairs. We thank also the 138th SSU Hong Kong for the funds to clean and paint the boatshed.

Wishing our 🇭🇰 friends a safe journey back home and see you again, next time ⚜️⛵️

Grateful to Civil Defence Malacca for the invitation and the honour to receive special award for best strategic partners at their media appreciation night last Saturday. Happy to also be joined by Ms. Sara Ma from The General Association of the Scouts of China (Taiwan).

7th & C Fort Sea Scouts have been blessed to receive training in safety boat rescue and sea navigation over the years.

Usaha Badge Camp taught us resilience, getting out of our comfort zone, team work, learning by doing and the importance of maintaining a clean environment by cleaning as we go.

Many thanks to the Camp Committee led by Brydan Cheong for the planning and ex*****on.

We were also joined by Sea Rover Aidan Krishnan and Mr. Mohana Krishnan Mohana Krishnan from who conducted an experiential session on Safe from Harm.

Special thanks to all the old boys, teachers and Skippers for the lessons and the level of care.

7th Fort Sea Scouts est. 1938 as an open sea scout unit under Fort District, present day Daerah Kota. Back in 1938, the first operational host was Malacca High School, present day is St. Francis Institution with permanent base at Seafarers Restaurant (Marine Workshop) at Klebang.

Honouring 7th Fort members from the yesteryears, today we would like to share treasurable memories courtesy of GSM . This photo was taken of those who passed their King Scout exam and received their certificate either in 1972 or 1973.

Scoutmasters from left to right - Mr. Vincent Lau, Mr. Tan Hong Kiang (with cap), Mr. Ong Kee Wee and Mr. Peter Lim. Next to Mr. Ong Kee Wee is Mr. Eric Khoo, past World Scout Committee (2008-2011-2015) World Scouting . The aforementioned have gone home.
